Please I need to get my laptop connected to the internet. I would like to be on from 6pm to 6am weekdays and 24hrs weekends though this should be scalable.

Kindly recommend a good network that can give me good speed and coverage using probably, a USB connection.

For the connection u want, i will recommend u use the newest technology in broadband internet connection called WiMAX. I have been using it since August last year and it has been ok.

The equipment is very portable and for the subscription u need, it is 5, 813 per month.

for personal installation its just 3k.

The bandwidth is 128/200kbps, 24/7 = N12k per month, N29, 250 for 3 months and n48, 750 for 6 months.

For 6pm to 8am & 24/7 weekends = 200/512kbps, monthly N9k, 3 months N21k and 6months, 35K.

I don't know about the freebies most of these guys are proposing, but trust your instincts. Freebies always have a hidden price. I use starcomms mobile broadband (EVDO). It's ok and u can choose whichever plan suits your taste. Now might be a good time as they have a promo going on. You get the software/hardware for =N=7000 (as against =N=15000 initially). They give u 50 hours of free browsing for 10 days and then you start paying your subscription, which could be as low as 5k a month. Hope this helps.

Well, if by now you have not rush into buying? The best advice I think you should follow came yesterday form SERUBAWON's post. The STARCOMMS mobile broadband (EVDO) is fast and reliable and cheap too. But it is only available on PCMCIA cards. That means you can only use it on your laptop.

I use VISA FONE moble broadband (EVDO) and it is extremly fast and reliable too. You can choose from veriety of their potable hardwares.

USB (EVDO/1x) you can use with any computer including APPLE computers (MAC)
I use this one now on my TABLET PC and iMAC.

PCMCIA (EVDO/1x) works only on your laptop
