Empowering the youths in Abia State is a welcome development, but information reaching the Abia voice of hope is that N150 million is being spent on Entertainment alone, for the performing artistes and musicians that would perform in the kangaroo.

Information reaching us says part of the planning committee consist of Chinedu Orji (Ikuku the Governor’s beloved son) and Hon Ezechikamnayo the present Commissioner of Information who incidentally was the same commissioner of Information under Orji Kalu who organized Ugwu Abia Cultural Festival and misappropriated huge sum of money which he used in building over twenty (20) uncompleted houses in his village in isuochi, Umunneochi Local Government Area and was sacked by Orji Kalu then.

How can the government of Abia State be empowering Abia Youths who are mainly graduates of Universities including those holding Masters Degrees with buses and tricycles (Keke NAPEP) Hmmmm. So the parents in Abia State struggle to train their children in school only to become taxi/okada drivers and conductors? Does any of the Governors children a taxi driver that the only empowerment strategy he finds most viable for the good people of Abia State is BUSES AND KEKE. Where has the employment scheme gone to that they cannot recruit graduates for employment?

This However means that the Governor T A Orji led administration is only interested in putting more plights and also here to deceive the people squandering the state resources. And all we do is to say it’s a laudable approach!!!!

Unfortunately the Government in Abia State is being economical with the truth on the so called Empowerment. What they are doing is HIRE PURCHASE not YOUTH EMPOWERMENT. The buses are being given to people on a down payment of Seven Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N750,000.00) and the balance to be spread over two years on a VERY HIGH INTEREST RATE) This they are not telling the general public. Is this empowerment? This is just Ochendo doing Business with the people. This is buy and sale and not empowerment.

The most funny aspect of this whole episode is that, the Government that is claiming to be doing an empowerment and who could budget a whooping sum of One Hundred and Fifty Million Naira (150,000,000=) for just entertainment for a one day activity is owing their workers in ALL the sectors and departments several months arrears in salary. How can we start to reconcile this irony that a Government that has not and cannot pay the salaries of her workers all of a sudden turned philanthropic?

Something fishy surrounds this whole brouhaha called Youth Empowerment of Ochendo. We Abians are still having our eyes being blind folded while they rape our mothers. We are still being deceived while they divert our resources. We are still being deceived with a magical handkerchief of iwere nke a iriem ego……

We should wake up and ask questions. Our elders and Ndi Ezes in Abia should stop behaving like deaf and dumbs and ask questions about Abia resources. The Youths who are being deceived with the so called Empowerment must realize that it is their Future that is being toiled here. We are being deceived in broad day light with keke and buses instead of real empowerment.

How many scholarships has this administration given? How many student of Abia state had their WEAC/SSCE/NECO fees paid by the state government? How many students of Abia State received Bursary since the last six years? How many doctors of Abia extraction where ever sponsored to go abroad to get specialization? There are shortage of personnel in our health centres, how many Abians have been sponsored by the government to study health related courses? The answer to all of the above is NON.

ABIANS WAKE UP!!! ABIA MUST GET BETTER. THERE IS STILL HOPE.

ABIA VOICE OF HOPE

Today it is globally realized that youth empowerment led the state and prosperity for next generations. Now many countries are focusing their youth by investing heavily in education, health, skills development and leadership education. These steps brought on forefronts, ultimately these nations leading the world. Therefore we can say that youth empowerment is integral for national development especially for under developing countries Nigeria where youth constitute majority of overall population. If these countries focus on youth development and empowerment it will led them towards long term prosperity. Those countries who invest heavily in their youth they get high returns on their investment in every sector.

The state governor is putting in his best in empowering the youth, in the past government how many people were empowered,The task of state building is very challenging and can be divided into phases. Everyone can contribute towards it according to his or her capabilities. First of all, the young people should be made to understand a specific project and its importance to the society. They should be given a suitable direction so that they can work hard for its fulfillment. This will make them satisfied by the realization that they have been assigned & role in the nation building. Therefore, it would be wise for the government to associate the young people with all such programmes which concern them. It is not difficult to mobilize the youth for national building provided someone offers them the right and honest leadership.

Thus, the youth are full of vast and untapped energy. Each state must see that its youth power is properly utilized in which the state governor is doing. It is the duty of the society to see that the youth is not corrupted by the corrupt leaders. They may be used by rival groups of teachers to disturb the academic environment. This government put has enabling environment free to our colleges and universities from the bane of politics. When in colleges and universities, the youth should be kept buys with academic courses and sports. When they are free, they should be engaged fruitful activities. Only then can we use the youth power for the task of nation building. IN WHICH GOVERNOR T A ORJI IS DOING RIDE ON SIR

Abia Youth Empowerment has beeen a success. So many youths roaming the streets doing nothing and causing nuisance in the community are now gainfully empowered which has enabled so many to be off the street and providing for their respective families, some has saved money to go to school, others has saved to open a business venture of their choice. Anybody who has in anyway talk against this youth empowerment scheme dont know what they are talkiing about, because for the target audience of this scheme, most of them got empowered, more will be empowered, and I believe it will be continues venture where other areas can be explored.
The target audience have benefitted and that is the essence of the scheme.

The governor of Abia state has done something that is remarkable ,to us it is something that has never been done before in Abia state, this good gesture will help alleviate the poverty level in the state and there by create opportunities for the unemployed youths..am so happy when i heard about the initiative and i make bold to say the governor has been showing a great commitment to ensuring that Abians are well placed....more grease to your elbow, T.A ORJI

The problem with haters is they are too hatefully blinded that they could not sense there has been a drastic improvement in the way of transformation in Abia state.....The governor of Abia state has taken his level of performance to the next level ,as am talking to you, he has made it a must-thing to actualize all his vision ,which is to give Abia state a facelift,in every area deemed necessary....so i feel sorry for people who -out of sentiment decides to take a side of the opposition and discredit the governor....i am of the opinion that they should desist from that act....

OUK was a governor for 8 good years ,but its just a disgraceful thing that he never made any impart that could last a long time or make a mark that would be remembered for as much of the time we could live on earth, there is no legacy projects OUK put in place,no youths were empowered, no roads were built, nothing of importance was staged for real to enable youths and citizens of Abia state tap resourceful benefits that will help change life for the better, but T.A came up,though he had a shunted start but along the line he pick himself up and started doing incredibly well...we are happy for T.A ORJI,for all he is doing presently.....so if any one says T.A is not working,i think i would recommend that person a mental illness station for cure...
