The fact that some people still hold on to the assumption that women should be seen and not heard. A-ca-annoying mehn... In addition, the fact that we don't celebrate our "own". Slave mentality. You worship white girls that you can't even go near (or smell), but hypocritically diss your own women. What do we call that? Insanity? 11. Do you have any Nigerian Nicknames? Yes. 1. What’s your Nigerian name? Sholly......I'm the first, so I have so many other names I'm not even aware of. 2. Were you Born in Nigeria? Yes....Ayinke House in Ikeja, Lagos Nigeria 3. Favourite Nigerian movie? I would say Saworoide or Oleku because I watched it with my mum and dad when I was really young. I didn't understand anything but I cried and my dad let me sit on his laps. I watched Oleku on YouTube two years ago, I have to say it's a really good movie, if not the best. 4. Favourite Nigerian song? (sing it & not add background music. LOL) None. It's all in the moment. Right now, I'll go for Praiz - "I love you" 5. Favourite Nigerian food? As a bonafide Ekiti chic, I pick Pounded yam and egusi soup 6. When was the last time you were in Nigeria? How many times have you been to Nigeria ? I was in Nigeria 2006 I promise to go this year though, I'll try. 7. What tribe are you? Omo Yoruba Le mi O - Swagga! 8. Say something in your tribal language? Mo feran yin 9. What do you like most about Nigeria? It's home, I guess. 10. What do you hate most about Nigeria? The people's unprogressive mentality 11. Do you have any Nigerian Nicknames? What do u mean?? 12. What makes you different from other Nigerians? My mentality plus passion for females in Nigeria. I don't think this makes me much different though. Oh! I can't sleep without socks on. 13. Do you speak your language? Hmmm....I'll say intermediate. I write it better but when I speak the words don't come out right. It's worse when I try to hold a conversation because I have to say it in English in my head first and translate to Yoruba and then figure out intonations. Let's just say I'm a work-in-progress. I'm better than my siblings though, that's a plus! Oh, I can understand a little Ekiti, whoot!! 14. Do you speak pidgin English? Yes! I like showing off my skills. The only time I'm reluctant to speak pidgin is when I meet someone that can really speak it, I get intimidated. I'll speak pidgin to you but can't hold a conversation in pidgin, it gets harder. 15. What around your house represents your culture? Hahahahahaha....me! 16. What is a ridiculous question you were asked about your culture? Where do I start? Hey Solar, do u have lion as pets in Africa?? Solar, do u speak Swahili?? Solar, did you ride elephants to school when u were in Africa? Solar, do you dress like this in Africa? Solar, do you know how to climb trees? 4 Likes |
