THE OPERATIONS SUPPORTS TEAM HAD DECIDED TO TAKE BULL BY THE HORN.I THINK, ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER THAN VOICE. WE CANNOT BE FOOL AGAIN!

REF; A REMINDER OF OUR PREVIOUS NEGOTIATION IN OML34 BLOCK

This is to remind you of our letter dated 11th April, 2013 in which elapse seven (7) days ultimatum was given over the unfulfilled terms agreed on between the NPDC management and the operation supports were stated. Following due process, this is another ultimatum of three (3) days to the management to comply over the terms stated below. Hence, the operation supports workers will down tools regardless of what effects it will create on production.

1. The personal protective Equipment (PPE): we needed our personal protective equipment (PPE) as soon as possible from NPDC.

2. The delay of payment of salaries by the local contractors: the local contractors could not prove their competency over the contracts handed over to them by the NPDC management. Many still February salaries. This was why we said earlier during the negotiation that we do not need local contractors but you imposed them on us by guarantee us that you will takes care of whatever situation that comes up.


3. Illegal deduction of VAT from the worker’s salaries: one of the major agitations during the negotiation was simply this. OBARO & SONS, EPHAS TECHNICAL SERVICE, MICO OYOVWE, SAMSON ONORERHE & SONS, GOPROS & SONS ENT. Must be call to order over this illegal deduction of VAT from the worker’s salaries. What we agreed on was only their mark-up or provide us a medium were this can be resolved between the worker and the contractors.

4. The transportation; all we needed is the monetization of the transport. Considering our various locations and our place of residence, this so call bus cannot bus cannot be any of help to us.

5. Identity cards; severally, we had been embarrassed and disturbed by the security agent in our various location while going to and fro from work. Hence, we unanimously concluded that we be provided with NPDC identity cards for proper recognition.

Kindly avert this on coming situation by providing us a necessary solution to the outstanding issues.
