The first edition of Women in Media Workshop 2013 sponsored by Grand Pure Soya Oil has ended in Lagos. The event which took placed at GMT Event Centre Sabo, Yaba, had in attendance leading Bloggers, Online PR professionals, Social Media and digital media experts.

The workshop which brought together female digital media experts deliberated issues concerning the digital media space in Nigeria, particularly social media trend, online PR and digital advertising, with speaker after speaker illustrating the need for strategic digital media switch and handling of digital campaigns and online PR by professionals across the country.

Speakers at the event include; Linus Okorie, Managing Consultant, New Vision Consults, Damilola Sobowale, Lecturer Pan African University/CEO, SMIDS Animations Studio, Bemigho Awala, Creative Director, 316 Media and Samson Olatunde; CEO, Business Impact amongst others.

Speaking on the readiness and determination of the brand to support the media, the Senior Brand Manager/Acting Marketing Manager, Grand Cereals Limited, Mr. Tope Banjo said: “the brand is fully ready to support all media activities that would promote healthy living and good health”.

According to him, the success recorded by the brand in the past years and the overwhelming endorsement by the Nigerian Heart Foundation as the Heart-Friendly Oil wouldn’t have been achieved without the support and partnership of the vibrant Nigerian media and that the brand is willing to partner with the media as it fully embrace digital media for its marketing activities.

Also speaking at the event, was the Business Manager, Oils and Cereals, South-West, Grand Cereals Limited; Mr. Babatunde Sadiq, according to him, “in line with the brand’s ultimate goal of promoting healthy living, Grand Pure Soya Oil has launched into Social Media and digital advertising in other to keep consumers and the online community abreast of happens in real time”.

Several Grand Pure Soya Oil products and branded items were given out to participants at the event. The event ended with a call on all digital practitioners and experts to work towards objective digital reporting and advertising campaigns.
