Civil Society Groups, under the aegis of Domestic Election Observers, yesterday , called for the outright cancellation of the just concluded local government elections in Edo State, describing it as one of the worst elections in the nation's history. About 42 Civil Society Groups were accredited to observe the elections held on April 20, and subsequently, April 24 and 25, respectively. They said that in the course of their duties, they denied access to the EDSIEC chairman, adding, for obvious reasons, which we believe had to do with the tendency to rig the election in favour of the ruling party, ACN, in Edo State. Any sane person would reject the results of that election, because the election was rigged, I witnessed it myself.
