The first monkey saw his rod dangling under him and said: “Hmmmm, so this man get tail,” and he turned to the second monkey and asked: “Why is he hiding the tail in the sack (trousers) he wore?” “Who tell you say na tail?” second monkey demanded. “That thing you see na banana.” “Noooooo! It is a tail.” “I say na unripe banana.” The argument went on like that. So the second monkey betted out his reserve of food in the store and said: “You will see, lets go and snatch the banana from the him.” The man who’d been hearing everything needed no soothsayer to tell him what to do. He did not bother to clean up his ass before he legged it out of the bush the way Falilat Ogunkoya would have done with two monkeys in hot pursuit behind him. |
