Local Government Elections are holding today in all the Local government councils in Kogi State. The tension in the state is high as ACN the major opposition in the state have threatened to Boycott the elections due to rumours of alleged plans by the PDP led government to rig the elections. If the boycott is true we don't know, but what we can confirm is the arrest and immediate release of Strong opposition leader in the State Dino Melaye, a former member of the Federal House of Representatives. LG elections in any state in nigeria is a sham. They more or less do the Governors bidding, I sometimes wonder why hold elections when the results 100% of the time goes only one way. You spend millions of naira holding elections that can only go one way. |
