Again, the issue of Nigeria and her governance took a centre stage yesterday, with the threat by a former member of the House of Representatives and a chieftain of the Congress for Progressive Change, Hon. Farouk Adamu Aliyu that 'it is either a Northerner as President in 2015 or there will be no more Nigeria.

Aliyu's outburst in an exclusive interview with LEADERSHIP in Abuja was a direct response to the ex-Niger Delta militant and leader of Niger Delta Volunteer Force, Mujahid Asari Dokubo declaration on Sunday that 'there will be no peace in the country, if Jonathan was denied a second term'.

Aliyu, who was the 2011 CPC governorship candidate in Jigawa State, said it is unfortunate and sad that Dokubo is still walking the streets a freeman after making such unguarded statement.

He warned that "if Jonathan, Dokubo and their people want to destroy this country, then we are willing accomplices".
The ex-lawmaker who claimed to be speaking for the people of the North warned that nobody has the monopoly of violence adding that such arm-twisting tactics as was exhibited by the Presidential Adviser on Niger Delta Affairs, Kingsley Kuku in United States some days ago, will not work.

"Few weeks back, Kingsley Kuku, the presidential adviser on amnesty programme in faraway America also went and made similar statements, which means President Goodluck Jonathan has already won the PDP primary election and the secondary election - that's exactly what they are saying.

"Let me also use this opportunity to say on behalf of us in the north that nobody has monopoly of violence and that on behalf of the people of northern extraction, there shall be no one Nigeria if a northerner is not elected president of this country, because politics is a game of numbers and the Ijaw people are not up to one million or two million or even five million.

"So if in a democracy, the President will allow somebody to say if he is not voted, there won't be peace – this clearly shows that they don't want peace and the president is not a democrat," he said.

The long march to 2015... grin

The tribalistic champs: Four quotes by four clowns stoking the ethnic flames in Nigeria

This is just proof that clownishness, tribalism, sectionalism, buffoonery are not limited to any one part of this country. We have clowns and chauvinists and buffoons in every zone and tribe of the country just as we have upright, outstanding, nationalistic individuals too.

Read what these ones have been saying in the papers recently:

1. Farouk Aliyu ( a sometimes sensible chieftain of the Congress for Progressive Change, and the governorship candidate of that party in 2011 elections)

“Let me also use this opportunity to say on behalf of us in the north that nobody has monopoly of violence and that on behalf of the people of northern extraction, there shall be no one Nigeria if a northerner is not elected president of this country, because politics is a game of numbers and the Ijaw people are not up to one million or two million or even five million.

“So if in a democracy, the President will allow somebody to say if he is not voted, there won’t be peace – this clearly shows that they don’t want peace and the president is not a democrat.”

2. Junaid Mohammed, the senile doctor who probably needs a surgery permanently sealing his lips for the good of humanity. He doesn’t know that anyway – physicians hardly know when they need help.

“As it stands today, anybody who imagines that he will build Nigeria in spite of the wishes of the North is dreaming. We are not lousy, we are decent and quiet people, we only talk when we have to. We said, look, this is getting embarrassing and does it mean that without the South we cannot survive? That without the so called oil or without Lagos we cannot survive. And does it mean everything produced in Lagos is consumed by Lagosians? Go and check your facts.

“On the whole, we will be better off if push comes to shove, we will go our way because if Nigeria breaks up, God forbid, Northern Nigeria is the only zone that can remain one, the South mainly the Yorubas will go their way, the Igbos will go their way.”

3. We should be worried that Kingsley Kuku has the ears of President Jonathan becuase if these are the kind of things he whispers in those ears, then there is fire on the mountain.

“Permit me to add that the peace that currently prevails in the zone is largely because Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, who is from that same place, is the President of Nigeria. That is the truth.”

“It is only a Jonathan presidency that can guarantee continued peace and energy security in the Niger Delta,

The attention and interest of the US in Nigeria must remain the stability of the Niger Delta and the easiest way to ensure this is to encourage President Jonathan to complete an eight-year term.

The agitators are prepared to patiently await development as long as one of their own, Dr. Jonathan remains the President, and I think this is one thing the American government should reflect seriously on.”

4. Asari Dokubo, one of Africa’s greatest attention seekers, seeking for – well – attention again. #PrayForAsari… the man is lost.

In the Niger-Delta, it is not because of amnesty that there is peace, it is because Goodluck is President, that is why there is peace. Immediately Goodluck cease to be president, all of us who are on sabbatical will come back. People like us never took amnesty, and we will never take it, because we committed no crime. Nobody will come to my land and take what belong to me.

Look at a supposedly honourable talking like and exchanging words with a known militant. SMH @ what Hausas contribute to this country in terms of brainstorming. This man is representing a group of people for Gods sake. How can he ever suggest anything good in terms of development in rocket science, medical breakthrough, arts, info tech, etc in this country. I curse the day Lord Luggard stepped foot in this country and joined us with these people.

It becomes clearer than daylight every day that we need not elections in 2015 but convocation of an SNC before or by then to trash out our living together or mutual breakup
Yugoslavia and Rwanda will be child's play when this seeds of hatred ferment

In as much as I detest their rule, please give it to them come 2015. Am not saying this out of cowardice but when you look at events in the past-We, the masses have been at the receiving end... It all ends up with bloods of citizens being spilled... Buhari has talked of blood, the Igbos are seeking for biafra, the niger deltans are issuing threats, boko haram... God know say I no go even get voter's card talk more of voting... Call it unpatriotism, I call it 'not wasting time'.
