lekanolas: A chieftain of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) in Onitsha, Mr. Tony Nwodo, yesterday threatened that Nigeria will not know peace if the Federal Government retries the group’s leader Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, and five others for alleged treason.

Nwodo, who described the planned retrial of as barbaric, said that “Igbo will, in like manner become barbarians to deal with the outcome of the retrial if ever it holds.”

Speaking to National Mirror on various issues affecting MASSOB, he said MASSOB members are hopeful that nobody would retry Uwazuruike because he did not commit any offence.

Nwodo said: “Uwazuruike for retrial? Nobody will do that, he is a non-violent fighter, we have demonstrated to the government that we are non-violent people. Uwazuruike has never ordered any of us to go for violence and a peaceful man does not deserve to be tried”.
