The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has thrown its weight behind President Goodluck Jonathan for declaring a state of emergency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States, saying it would restore peace and stability to the troubled states as well as the polity.

The party’s position was made known by its spokesman, Olisa Metuh, in an interview with journalists.

“You cannot make an omelette without breaking eggs,” Mr Metuh said. “We are 100% behind the president’s action and we call on all responsible citizens to rally round the security officials of the nation at these trying times. With President Jonathan Nigeria will overcome our security challenges.”

Also, the Labour Party, LP, commended Mr Jonathan for taking the measure to bring back peace in the states.
