Toure, a defender and an on and off midfielder
the CAF African football best player in 2012?
Because he inspired Man City to win the FA cup
and PremierLeague titles respectively. As well as
scoring most vital goals to ensure that success.
He has never won any honour for his country, the
Ivory Coast.


What did it take Fifa to award Fabio Canavaro,
a defender, the World football best player in
2006? Because he captained Italy to win the
Fifa world cup that year. He was not known for
scoring vital goals, both for club and country. As
far as i know, he only scored just 2 goals for his
country in his entire caree and 16 for clubs.



What will it take CAF to award John Mikel Obi,
a midfielder, the African football best player
for 2013?
Although, Mikel was not a prolific goal scorer,
but his efforts has inspired his club to win
almost everything there is to be won in football.

He also inspired his country to win the African
cup after 14 years, surpassing the achievements
of those of his contemporaries!


This year, there will be no more excuse by CAF
for not recognizing the efforts of this young
man, who is threatning to become Nigeria's most
capped player, by honouring him with this
prestigeous award.

If they fails to do it, it is time we all march to
CAF's headquarters with protest placards and
demand for redress, then total re-orgnization
of that body.
