Orji Lauds Fg,makes Case For Abia Ex-militants. by patrikobi: 3:11pm On May 18, 2013
Amnesty :Orji lauds FG,makes case for Abia ex-militants.Governor T.A Orji commended the federal government for initiating the amnesty programme for ex-militants but appealed to it to include repentant Abia militants in the programme.
Speaking when he received the House of Representatives committee on public petition ,the governor said ex-militants will be willing to under go training if invited by the federal government.

According to him,his administration granted amnesty to repentant kidnappers and criminals in the state and was in the process of rehabilitating them before the announcement of the amnesty package by the federal government which unfortunately did not include Abia youths.

The governor also used the forum to advise the Boko Haram to come out and dialogue with the federal government to bring lasting peace in the country.
Earlier ,the chairman of the house committee on public petition s,Hon Uzor Azubike said the committee has responsibility of carrying out investigative activities and advising the house on the proper actions to take over complaints brought to it.
He said that they were in the state to investigate the complaints of over 5,000 ex-militants from Abia Abia state who are complaining their non inclusion from the federal government amnesty programme in order to mitigate possible backslide if nothing is done.

He thanked the governor for his efforts in crime management as manifested in the declaration of amnesty to ex-militants in the state and revealed that they will listen to youths to see how they can be captured in the federal government amnesty programme
