I'm a student in a Nigerian Federal University, I had a 4.7 my 100L 1st semester, but due to an F I had in a course, I dropped to cgpa of 4,29..... my question is even after I have a 4.5 or above after final year, because of what I heard about having an F in a course, eludes you the oppurtunity of graduating with 1st class, how true is this fact? Please your opinions are highly needed, thanks.

Yes you can. A close friend finished with first class although he started with a CGPA of 3.83. So if you work hard, why not?

The best person to ask is your course adviser.

I think he actually meant if there's a possibility of him graduating with a first class after failing a course, not basically dropping in gp per se, eg, he graduates with a 4.5 cgpa, but since he failed a course, he isn't awarded first class.
