The former banker turned taxi driver committed suicide by hanging himself shortly after the killing. Neighbours disclosed that a court had dissolved the couple's 16-year- old marriage just two weeks ago and that Funmilayo who was a trader came to pack her belongings when she was murdered by her husband who had begged her not to leave him but she refused. One of the children of the deceased discovered the gruesome scene after returning from school and raised an alarm. Both bodies were taken to the Ijapo police station after some men from the Deji of Akure's palace brought down the dangling body and the rope, having conducted some appeasement rites. Five children now orphans. Sad! |
