A japanese man who was the world's oldest living person has died at the age of 116.

Jiroemon Kimura had held the title since 17th december 2012, he died in the hospital following a battle with pneumonia on wednesday.

When asked on his 115 birthday what the secret to a long life was, he said "I dont't know exactly, maybe its all thanks to the sun above me. I am always looking to wards the sky, that is how i am".

He might have been known as the oldest man but I knw my great grand mother who equally has great great grand children is older, and she is still alive.
