Using Android phone as a modem
You can use your android phone as a
modem with your computer. If only
you can follow these steps and
meet up with the requirements
below. Requirements: Android
phone of at least OS 2.3.5 which
has a WI-FI network facilities and
Hotspot as well as having tethered
and portable WI-FI networks. A
computer system that has a wireless
or WI-FI network facilities (WLAN)
You must subscribe to a data bundle
of any network so as to save you
from using your airtime. When all
these requirements are met, then
you can proceed by following these
steps. Please follow these steps
meticulously, in order to be
successful. It has been practicalised
before posting. Step 1 Enable your
phone’s mobile data (Edge/GPRS)
and hotspot. Step 2 Enable your
system WLAN/WI-FI Step 3 Click on
start menu > control panel >
network and sharing center Step 4
Once the network and sharing
center page has been opened, click
on connect to a network. After
clicking on it, your computer will
displays a dialog box on the right
hand side of your computer screen.
Step 5 Scroll down and click on the
available wireless network
connection in the dialog box. The
available network will expand when
you click on it. Here, you will see a
box to check of which it will
automatically connect to the
internet any time your hotspot is
alive if checked and another box
label connect. Click on connect, your
computer get connected to the
internet if you are running an open
connection on your mobile device
but if secure connection, then you
will have to input your WI-FI
password. After this, you can start
surfing the net. Comment on this

We have been having wifi hotspot since 2009 on nokia .
This is 2013 , can u run a tutorials on how to root an android.

Am lost after step 4. When I click on “connect to internet it bring a box that says “Type the network security key". What do I do here. Tanx

Just install Joiku app and u turn ISP for ur yard

The security key would be on the tether/WiFi hotspot menu on your phone. Just copy it from there.

Make sure ur wifi source does not have security code and if it has must know it. Also if u ve forget it just go to where ur wifi hotspot setting is and click on show password den u input ur security code
