Re: Latest Football Transfer News by wormedup(m): 1:33pm On Jan 05, 2007
# David Beckham is set to stay at Real Madrid because his family are happy in the Spanish capital, and that's the most important thing. He expects a new contract to be finalised soon.

# Werder Bremen have made Miroslav Klose the biggest contract offer in team history to stay at the club. If he doesn't they'll move for highly-rated Ajax hitman Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

# Real Madrid have made a £27million bid for Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo. The news comes after the Spanish giants held an emergency board meeting following their defeat by Recreativo Huelva.

Luis Boa Morte finalizes his move to West Ham after passing a medical.
Re: Latest Football Transfer News by Bizl4Rizl(m): 4:32pm On Jan 05, 2007
Sir Alex has totally debunked any moves or bids for C. Ronaldo & frankly speaking, its not possible. Cristiano is the man of the moment, it will be foolhardy to sell him for whatever amount.

Calum Davenport  (Tottenham) West Ham (Undisclosed )

Christino's Verdict:

Portsmouth is fast becoming Arsenal's recycle bin for players who are no longer needed by the management. With the way things are going, let's hope someday we see the likes of Rosicky, Hleb and Toure play for Pompey too grin

Sheffield are really recruiting, hope all these 2-2 millions can do the trick grin

Uncle SAM isn't buying Desailly out of retirement no more? And Chelsea are still trying Ben Haim, Young is giving Watford a hard time after rejecting a 10 million pound bid from West Ham, there's a fresh 8m bid from another club now, hope he takes it. Man U have placed 20million pounds under Bayern's nose but they aren't releasing Owen till the summer. And to top it all, Milan are interested in Ronaldo after Inter Milan have won all of their last 12 matches setting a new italian record. They are unbeaten so far this season with 16 wins and three draws.

Cheers.

Re: Latest Football Transfer News by dblock(m): 6:14am On Jan 24, 2007
Nope It's not official, apparently he is at England training with the team but he might not be able to sign any time soon due to work visa problems. The Player might even be going to Chelsea or Arsenal according to recent and past speculations. undecided

Re: Latest Football Transfer News by Christino(m): 7:32pm On Jan 30, 2007
@ Lordi, Wigan paid the #2.1m for the under 21 star.

What happened to Ogbuke's deal?

I hope Aghawonder will provide the cutting edge in front of goal.

Let's stop arguing about these players' ages, NL is a popular forum now and those crazy foreign journalists can bump in and create stories out of our comments, remember martins' case.

I know Pius Ikedia as a person (on lion field of course, if you lived in Alimosho between 1995 and 1997, you should know Basket, Pius and Muri formerly of Enyimba), i dared not call him by name back then (it had to be brother), but glory be to God i'm older than him now grin

Re: Latest Football Transfer News by Christino(m): 10:49pm On Feb 01, 2007
Ashley Young (watford) ---> Aston Villa (#8million)

@ Kit,

Yea Abesan is like 6 minutes drive from my house. I schooled at Aligrams and I remember back then whenever we played on Abesan's ground it had to be hell, bottles and "LEBE" (Leventis) and you remember back then in 1993, an average WAEC candidate had to be 24-26 years of age. Why are we bastardizing soccer for God's sake?
Re: Latest Football Transfer News by kitaun(m): 12:19am On Feb 02, 2007
Tape it there jare, why cunningly mislead us with this age thingy, if u say the average WAEC candidate as at 1993 was 25-27 then i should be close to 40 then cos i wrote my exams thereabout and i wasnt the youngest neither was i the oldest in my set!! Ikedia was bleeping young then but prolly cos u were younger, u had a higher perception of his age!
Re: Latest Football Transfer News by Akolawole(m): 12:23am On Feb 02, 2007
Christino:

an average WAEC candidate had to be 24-26 years of age.

Re: Latest Football Transfer News by Christino(m): 12:53am On Feb 02, 2007
@ Kit and Akola,

Can't you guys see "AVERAGE!"

Even today in some secondary schools, there are still agbayas like 22 and 23. Average age now is 16 - 18 though. Jeez, i was almost 9 when I got into sec school.
Re: Latest Football Transfer News by Akolawole(m): 12:56am On Feb 02, 2007

Re: Latest Football Transfer News by kitaun(m): 1:00am On Feb 02, 2007
@Chris, i belong to that agegrade so i should know! The SP of Ikedia's set is my very gud friend. The average age was 18/19 depending on where u schooled, private or public and also in which state of the country u schooled!
Re: Latest Football Transfer News by Christino(m): 1:05am On Feb 02, 2007
I schooled @ Alimosho Grammar School Lagos PUBLIC!

Are you sure average age was 18/19? I'm learning something here actually, good to note that then. But I tell you, for Aligrams dat tym? I doubt if our average was 18/19 abi dem dey use football age cheesy for una school too? grin
