My qstn once again is that if these supposedly 'wisest' men frm all d states in Nig cannot determine who got their votes among these 2 gladiators, if Dr Uduaghan as the electoral high chief cannot categorically give us the name of the winner, then we av no biz voting in the coming election 4 anyone of them if anyone of dem is contesting at all or their candidates. Secondly, those who attended Jang's meeting are worse than him, a one-eyed man can only lead but BLIND FOOL!

But trust our media, especially our print media, they will coin a negative caption for it to suit their purpose. I watched it on TV and 18 governors or deputy governors were in attendance.

The article only listed the 6 PDP and 11 opposition governors as those that stayed away but refused to state clearly that governors/deputy governors of the following states attended:

1) Ondo

2) Cross River

3) Kaduna

4) Abia

5) Taraba

6) Kwara

7) Kogi

cool Anambra

9) Kaduna

10) Ebonyi

11) Enugu

12) Katsina

13) Bauchi

14) Plateau

15) Benue

16) Delta

17) Bayelsa

18) Akwa Ibom

With the highlighted above we can see how you got a permanent seat on PDP's inner circle. Jonthan, Tukur and Gov. Jang are very proud of you.

utumunta: As long as these 36 emperors congregate to clink glasses of cognac, at the expense of the masses, under whatever guise, be it NGF or NCS, Nigeria will never know development.
This a trade union for the advancement of their interests and it is a shame that Nigerians who have been bearing the brunt of their mafia-vice grip on the polity, will join in this macabre dance of who won the election or not.
These men, through this union, dictate who becomes a councillor, Local govt chairman, state and federal legislators and (since 2007) President!
The effect of this ,is that being a governor automatically qualifies one for the office of President. They did it in 2007, when two of their members became President and vice. When Yar'adua died, they nominated one of their own as vice to the present president. Now our choice of President has been reduced to these 36 governors, who are anti-democrats and development(check how they run their states).
People like Prof Pat utomi, oby Ezekwesili, Dora Akunyili et al, who are qualified for the office of President will never get there ,since they won't have the support of the NGF.
NB: Anyone that wanted to mention Fashola or Akpabio as doing well, should stop and marry the level of development in those states with what accrues to the state from the FG and revenue.
God bless u my brother. U just took the words out of my mouth.

Agreed. What I find ridiculous is the MISLEADING screamer of a fake headline "PDP Governors SHUN Jang's NGF Meeting' (as if a majority of PDP governors "shunned" the meeting). . . .only to list opposition characters. Nonsensical reporting.

Fashola's achievements can in no WAY be attributed to the revenue allocation being accrued to Lagos state, he's such an idealist who has came up with enormous innovative projects which has been able to bring funds into the coffers of his government, this innovative projects include partnering with private firms in the provision of infrastructures. He doesnt belong to the league of those unscrupulous governors.

Agreed the NGF might not be a group for advancing the much needed robust all encompassing Nigeria development. It may even be standing on shaky prongs of "right to associate" parlance of constitution. These do not debase and undermine the fact that the present happenings in the forum is a serious error and show of shame orchestrated by the power that be which if not challenged could be a precursor to greater and greatest chain of errors.

Nigeria is not strictly speaking one party nation. That NGF has been choosing and endorsing who be the vice/president is as a result of weak opposition. PDP ordinarily doesn't need NGF to achieve such. I think democracy is a game of majority. Jang's failure at NGF election is a step towards breaking the presidency dominance and control over the state governors. All the sterling qualities ascribed to GEJ before his election were lies. I'm not disappointed. He is the part of the rotten system. That is why he is supporting a failed Jang just to boost his ego.
God bless u. Your analyses on d true situation so far remain outstanding. If only we have a formidable oppositn tat can challenge d power tat be witout necessarily indulge in partisanship, who then cares about NGF. Single party system anywhere remains a threat 2 dev nd nigeria is no exeption. It is a cancer tat must be flush out. The oppositn will be taken seriously d moment d start fielding in technocrat instead of tis recircling of tis same politicians.

@ Ziccot, I beg to differ on your views on the rising potency of the leadership of the governor's forum. If its not checked, will run parallel to the presidency. Any over ambitiuos governor will seize it by force as is been observed right now. The idea of governor's forum will work well in an advanced democracy, but here in naija, hmmm.. if they give u allow, u will look for allowance.

Secondly, governors believe that after their 8 years tenure in office, the next level is the presidency. Recall that the NGF has produced the last 2 presidents and vice presidents. Its also an unhealthy trend that must be broken. I believe we can get better presidents if we spread our search wider than narrow it on 36 governors

If this current government government do their thing unchecked, Nigeria will be worst for it. Pressure groups like the NGF, etc, then whatever the presidency want it does and push it down our throats.

These governors are from different parties, religion, states and ethic groups. So when they take a decision there are so many factors that is deliberated and considered.

Now without that in place or having a stooge as NGF, decisions of the FG could be sectarian or dictatorial and all that can be done is rants and complain - the FG will still do as it please.
