Ahead of the 2015 General Elections, a political pressure group aligned with the South-South and the Middle Belt leaders, made up of 19 states, under the aegis of Congress for Equality and Change (CEC) yesterday held a closed door meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan, endorsing him for second term.

The group, comprising of prominent politicians, ministers and political appointees from the zones, was led by the Elder Statesman Chief Edwin Clark as convener. They met with President Jonathan for more than an hour at the Presidential Villa.

Also, ahead of the governors’ meeting with President Jonathan yesterday night, Governors Theodore Orji of Abia State, Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta and Ibrahim Shehu Shema of Katsina met with the president. I wonder how they came about 19 without the Southeast. 6 South-south + 2 middlebelt = 8. So where did they get 19 from?
