Thanks, but i dont want to do responsive design, They are a lot of components on the web version that i wont want on the mobile version. Think of it like the web version of facebook and the mobile version, responsive design wont just work.

It will work perfectly. You will just display:none whatever you dont want at any given screen width.
Unless, you have to separately design for mobile and have: http://www.m.yourwebsite.com and add a script that will fire it when a user is using certain screen width. But @media query can handle it perfectly.

I would like to go with this, the web and mobile version of this site are two different worlds. The backend is even a bit different.

It seems the problem has been solved? If not i still advice you to use graphics option of media query.
