John 16:13 says if you are a friend of the Holy Spirit, He will keep you informed of the truth. It will be difficult for people to pull wool over your eyes. In addition to this, He will expose the truth of God's Word to you. It is the revelation of the truth that makes free. This implies that, if you are a friend of the Spirit, He will bring you out of bondage and ensure you walk in liberty. No wonder 2 Corinthians 3:17 says,
"Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty,''
The greatest need of the one in captivity is the Holy Spirit. Are you in a demonic bondage? You need the Holy Spirit. Are you in prison - both spiritual and physical? Be filled with the Spirit. Draw close to Him. Love and serve Him within that prison situation and before long you will be spiritually liberated. As you continue to walk with the Spirit, the physical prison walls will not be able to contain you. The truth is that you cannot have a close walk with the Holy Spirit and remain bound.
