The Boko Haram insurgency has damaged the social, economic and political health of the northern zone. Violence and insecurity are the biggest threats to investments, economic and social development.
The north as statistic indicate, are the poorest zone, the least literate and least healthy. To add salt to injury, the insurgency surfaced and they ranked the most insecure in the country(arguably).
Other areas in the country that had similar problems were able to rise again due to the resources they had.
Warri, Port Harcourt, Aba are examples, but they still lost alot due to high level of insecurity and violence that staged them. Plateau is yet to recover from the aftermath of the violence.

It will be a difficult task for the north to recover from the huge loss they've suffered. Out of my magnanimity, I'll give them 8 years.

What say you?
