Nigeria's senior men's national basketball team, D'Tigers have departed for Lanzhou and Guangzhou, China to open their international preparation for the African Championship (Afrobasket) in the Stankovich Cup Tournament which holds from 27th June-10th July.

The home-based players and coaching staff left Lagos yesterday afternoon aboard Qatar Airlines via Doha while their US-based colleagues departed the Los Angeles International Airport aboard Air China flight via Beijing.

The team will play Germany on July 27 and subsequently square-off against Argentina, Puerto Rico, China and Australia in the round-robin contest of the first leg of which ends in Lanzhou on July 1.

The second leg will hold in the southern commercial city of Guangzhou from July 3-10.

The team will then proceed on recess to reconvene for the next phase of preparation in USA during the third week of July.
