Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi is not taking
it lightly with his critics, particularly, those
with the opinion that he was depending too
much on the home-based players.
The coach who took eight local stars to the
recently concluded FIFA Confederations Cup
descended on his former national team mate,
Sunday Oliseh for attributing the team’s poor
outing in Brazil to Keshi’s dependence on local
stars.
”It is a shame that Sunday Oliseh could say a
thing like that. He was a nobody when he came
to the national team. He started from home
too,” Keshi said.
He called on the media to back his rebuilding
project as he asked, “is it bad that we are
trying to build a team with the inclusion of
home-based players? Please, help me question
the integrity of those who are opposed to this
and Tell them what it’s right.”
He was not finished yet with Oliseh.”When he
came to the national team, I took him as a
younger brother. I later (as an assistant coach
to Amodu Shuabu) made him captain and he
became a super star. Who knows what these
boys could become in future?”
Keshi took five local players to the Nations Cup
in South Africa. Godfrey Obaobona and Sunday
Mba were outstanding and were rated more
than many of the foreign-based players.

In as much as I support Keshi's rebuilding plan I don't' see d relevance of Keshi's story of hoe he 'made' Oliseh. Keshi should be open to criticisms from anyone includin sunny oliseh who didn't become a superstar cos Keshi made him captain.

This is nothing but critizism which should be accepted with gladness, and make corrections whenever is due.
