Americans are no longer the fattest nation in the world thanks to residents of Mexico. According to a report by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, Mexicans top the list of the fattest nation in the world with 32.8 percent of the population suffering from obesity, compared with 31.8 percent in the U.S

In Mexico, more than 70 percent of the population suffers from overweight and 1 in 6 suffers from diabetes.

The UN puts the blame on industrialized agriculture, the abundance of fast food chains in the U.S. and cheap junk food meals.
