well, forgive me for this little digression,

I just want to point something out. Some guys are using the term "light" some may not know that this is not correct. I am just raising this issue due to a past thread where the quality of our spoken English was discussed and many think there is nothing wrong in the way we speak. I also use the term "light" but will never use it (and or Nigerian English in general) in a public forum or while conversing with native English speakers, they mostly confuse "light" to mean "day-time" in context until u explain what u mean...

Just saying.

ok guys, this thread might be very useful as a reasonable survey on the current state of power supply in Nigeria. Therefore pls state ur location while u give input cos now we can't really tell if it's only Ibadan thread or from everywhere.
Thanks.

So, Rain never fell during Obasanjo and Yar'dua's time abi?

Come on, lets not turn this into a GEJ and Obj fight.

Every year even during Abacha time, power improves during raining season because the dams have more water and are able to generate more.

WHEN PEOPLE CREATE TOPICS TO DISCUSS ELECTRICITY IN A COUNTRY THEN THERE IS A PROBLEM.

Where I live power outtage breaks the news.
Power is only switched off by natural disasters not some drunken PHCN staff.

Just 3 days light and you are creating a thread making noise?

In as much as would hate to admit it, i have never ever seen a situation where there would be constant power suply for a week!.... Isnt it painful not cotonu that we undermine and yarb saying is at the 'edge' of lagos has stable power?... Most countries are saying they are celebrating 500 years of power supply and you are here saying '3' days?
I have relatives who has never seen a total black out in thier whole life!!!

Dude get a life!

I am still yet to say that phcn has improved. I will accept improvement when these archaic transformers has been changed to new morden ones. as 4 me o, commercializing the power sector is the only solution. Tanx
