Please i will like to know the process involve in having a change of name in the university or other higher institution after a legal change of name in the court.

@ud003, have you pulish the details of your change of name in a national newspaper?

If your answer is yes.

Then you need to write a simple letter to your school(higher institution)to inform the authorities of your change of name.

There is generally no standard way of doing this ( it depends the administrative structure of the school.

Letter should be addressed to the Registrar and copying the following:

1) Exams and Records

2) Office of the VC

3)Dean Of Student Affairs

4)Dean Of Faculty

5)Your departmental HOD

Like I said, the process varies from one university to the other.

Your best bet is to contact your Registrar's office for guidance.
