Good day Sir, nice thread here. I'd like to register a bizness name, not a ltd, but an enterprise, as I don't have a board of share holders to involve.
From what you said, can you be more explicit with what you mean by N5000 to register a bizness name?
I'm in benin at the moment and on my street we have CAC, went for an inquiry sometime in March and was told that I pay N500 to purchase form for bizness name and later pay N4000 for registration. Only for my friend that purchase the form to come back in May and was told that to register is now N10 000, plus he needs to go to high court for affidavit, with 2 passport photo graphs.
Like I said, I'd like you to shed more light to this.

To register a business name u'll ve to do the following
1. Pay N500 for name availability search. Two name will ve to be submitted, then one will be approved to you for registration.
2. Two passport foto(s) of each partner has to be provided for the registration.
3. Then you will purchase a business name form for any CAC authorized bank, and complete them. The cost of the form is N250.
4. Finally you will then file the Business name form after it has been verified and assessed by the CAC officials. The statutory fee for filing is N10,000.

A company cannot be registered unless it has the authorised minimum. If a private company limited by shares is converted to a public company the capital clause must be altered to bring it in conformity with the authorised minimum of a public company.
