TRAINEE ENGINEERS
The ideal candidate profile:

RESERVOIR ENGINEERS
The ideal candidate profile:
lAt least a B.Sc, B.Eng or B.Tech. degree with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division (2.1) in any of
the following engineering disciplines: Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Petroleum, Electrical/Electronics,
Industrial & Production, and Materials & Metallurgical
lMust possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in oil production, preferably in Petroleum, or Reservoir
Engineering, including experience in Reservoir surveillance, modelling and simulation
The following skills and attributes are required:
lMaintain and implement near term reservoir and well surveillance strategies and plans consistent with
long term field depletion plans, and monitor MPN's oil and gas wells and fields
lProvide reservoir engineering input into MPN's active drill-well, workover and project
development programs
lEnsure effective reservoir management of MPN resource base as well as interact with reservoir
simulation models
SUB-SURFACE ENGINEERS
The ideal candidate profile:
lCandidates should possess a Bachelors degree (B. Sc./ B. Eng.) with a minimum of second class upper
(2.1) division in any of the following engineering disciplines: Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Petroleum,
Electrical/Electronics, Industrial & Production, or Materials & Metallurgical
lThe ideal experience range for this position is 5 to 10 years of well workover and related operations
experience with at least two (2) years working on offshore rig base wellwork activities as an advantage
lThis position requires an individual who brings a well-rounded knowledge and exposure to completion
and drilling activities
lQualified candidates must be able to develop all phases of well workover projects; from well design and
engineering, to workover execution plans
lSuccessful candidates must possess good written and verbal communications skills, uncompromising
integrity, be zealous and quick to learn new expertise through training
The following skills and attributes are required:
lWorkover and new well design, preparation of workover packages, nodal analysis and wellbore/ field
surveillance through active participation on Asset Level Teams
lPrepare government reports, well testing, gas lift optimization, and support and supervise rig-less
wellwork operations
lOccasionally provide rig site technical assistance to Rig Supervisors during workover operations
lMonitor workover operations according to safety and quality control standards, environmental regulations,
corporate policy, and contract terms
lDevise cost-effective techniques to drill, complete, and rework company-operated wells
lInterface closely with drill teams, completions/subsea teams, and 3rd party suppliers to ensure that the
wellwork is on time and within budget
lPrepare final well reports with strong emphasis on lessons learned and wellbore integrity
PROJECT ENGINEERS
The ideal candidate profile:
lMust possess 5-10 years of relevant working experience in oil production, management of engineering
and construction contracts (preferably in facilities or project/petroleum engineering)
lMust have demonstrated technical competence and leadership ability
The following skills and attributes are required:
lContribute to the planning, design and execution of world class development projects
lProvide project engineering support in the areas of process and hydraulic simulation, development of
equipment specification, development of process flow diagrams, major equipment sizing, equipment
layout, cost estimates and project schedules
lInvolvement in design, fabrication and installation or start-up of oil and gas production facilities/pipelines
CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERS
The ideal candidate profile:
lCandidates should possess a Bachelors degree (B. Sc./B. Tech./B. Eng.) with a minimum of second class
upper (2.1) division in any of the following disciplines – Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering
lMust possess 5-10 years of relevant working experience in management of construction projects
(preferably in the Oil & Gas Industry)
lMust have demonstrated technical competence and leadership ability
The following skills and attributes are required:
lContribute to the planning, and execution of world class Oil & Gas projects
lProvide construction engineering support in reviewing of Project Designs such as structural and
mechanical arrangements, equipment specification, process flow diagrams, equipment layouts to ensure
constructability
lPrepare and monitor construction cost estimates and project schedules
lMonitor and steward progress of projects through fabrication, installation through completion to start-up
and hand over to Operations.
DRILLING ENGINEERS
The ideal candidate profile:
lCandidates should possess a Bachelors degree (B. Sc./B. Tech./B. Eng.) with a minimum of second class
upper (2.1) division in any of the following disciplines - Mechanical, Chemical or Petroleum Engineering
l5 to 10 years of drilling and related operations experience with at least two (2) years working in offshore
drilling activities
lAbility to work in, and develop all phases of drilling; from well design and engineering, to drilling and
completion activities
lIn addition to the drilling experience, the position requires an individual who brings a well-rounded
knowledge and exposure to completion and workover activities
lGood written and verbal communications skills, uncompromising integrity, be zealous and quick to learn
new expertise through training
lCandidates must be willing to work on rotational basis and spend a large part of their career on
offshore rigs
The following skills and attributes are required:
lEnsure the application of the best available economical technology in drilling and completions operations
lPrepare well-cost estimates, surveillance and improvement of daily progress, follow up assessments and
equipment selection and application
lOccasionally provide rig site technical assistance to Drilling Supervisors during critical well operations
lMonitor drilling operations according to safety and quality control standards, environmental regulations,
corporate policy, and contract terms
lDevise cost-effective techniques to drill, complete, and rework company-operated wells l
lInterface closely with subsurface teams, completions/subsea teams, and 3rd party suppliers to ensure that
