THE TRUE ENEMY OF NDI IGBO
****A MUST read for every Igbo!!!
In 1960 at independence, Igbo was the most dominant ethnic group in Nigeria controlling key positions in the military and the civil service. 53 years after, we have been systematically relegated to thefourth and treated like second class citizens in a land we call our own.
In the 1st republic in 1963, Igbo held the 2nd position in the country with Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe as the ceremonial President
In the 2nd republic, they occupied the 2ndposition, with Dr. Alex Ekwueme as the Vice President
In the 4th republic under Obasanjo we had the 3rd position occupying the Senatepresident
In 2007 we were pushed down to the 6th position holding just the deputy senate president
Today under president Goodluck Jonathan Ndi Igbo have been politically liquidated with none of the offices of the President, vice president, senate president, speaker of the house of reps, Chief Justice of the Federation, PDP Chairman, and PDP bot Chairman going to the south east.
Out of 6 zones only southeast has 5 states, others have 6 & 7
Out of 6 zones only southeast has 15 senators, others have upto 21
Out of 6 zones only southeast has 95 LGAs while others have upto 186
Out of 6 zones only southeast has 43 fed. Constituencies, others have upto 92
The worst of all, southeast recieves about N85 billion monthly as federal allocation when others recieve upto N285 Billion as at May, 2013.
Yet some of our Igbo elites are unperturbed.
While the Northern leaders, Yoruba leaders and even the Niger delta leaders who have held the presidency for upto 35years are agitating to regain the position, some Igbo leaders prefare to play second fiddle. For their selfish reasons., they are running around Aso Rock angling for contracts or ministerial positions and endosing Jonathan for a second term.
His Excellency Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu says NO! This inhuman marginalizationand injustice agianst Ndi Igbo must stop through the election of a Nigerian president of Igbo extraction in 2015.
To realize this noble agenda, he has promised to USE HIS ENERMOUS WEALTH, POLITICAL SAGACITY, PERSONALITY and LOCAL/INTERNATIONAL CONNECTIONS to support any candidate selected by Ndi Igbo to run for president in 2015. But if there is no capable candidate that comes out for the race he says: "I shall take up the challenge to liberate my people from this apartheid of the new millenium."

As much as I don't play in d Ethnicity league, dis write up is a food for thought for the Ndi'gbos! To think that at every election year, their leaders with the acquiscence of d people themselves have always bcum tongue-tied and refusing to put their best foot forward by strategically positioning themselves as an electoral attractive bride but always content with playing 2nd fiddle owing to their eternal hatred of a so-called enemy(the yorubas before now and the hausas in this dispensation) hence refusing to mount a serious agitation for the presidency of this country beats me hollow

While they are busy dissipating energy on GEJ without concormitant political dividend to show for it,I would rather d igbos become open_minded about their issues and strategically form alliance with any power bloc that promises a better tomorrow rather than using the present strategy of 'd enemy of my enemy is my friend'

I cringe in disbelief whenever I hear Ndigbo commenters say that GEJ will hand over to them hence insulting both the hausas and d yorubas whose votes they will still solicit for in d likelihood of a president of Igbo extraction ever emerging or in d alternative go for Biafra. This is double-speak to say d least...

As much as I don't defer to ethno-religious sentiments in whatever guise,d present realities of Nigeria lends credence to this bitter fact hence d need for all of us to be mindful of whatever we do today cos tomorrow will sure pay us back in greater measure

I would so much wish a president of Igbo extraction become a reality but not in dis way by which youths who are supposed to be open-minded n bridge builders engage in deadly n fierce disparaging of anything about the other regions

The igbo race is so much endowed with many attributes that others do not have. Talk of the way they deploy their acumen in their endeavours, their food, their large heartedness (its only an igbo man that builds powerful houses for their in-laws,others do not). When obasanjo visited Onitsha as a president when Gov Mbadinuju was in power,he say Awada layout with all th four & five storey buildings & asked the if they were built by the govt. He became jealous when d gov told him that they were built by individuals & went back to abuja & started frustrating Igbo businesses. But God had already blessed Igbos profoundly

Did I mention OUK or KOU in my comment? That's how people fail in school. Even if d thread mentioned OUK n seeks to launder his image somehow,I intentionally didn't tow that line rather choosing to make my opinion broad based n open-ended by addressing the Ndigbo issue without attempting to promote any1 as having d messianic attributes of a presidential material

good.if only becoming president automatically brings properity to his ethic group.the north is a good example.'promising a better tomorrow' as for this statement you made earlier it is laughable if you do not know nigeria's problem is more fundamental than some funny promises of a so called better tomorrow by politicians.

The Igbos need to look inwards and should rather stop blaming other regions for their woes. The reason I feel they don't feel secured and guaranteed enough to contest is that they are aware of the feeling that they've already assumed people of other regions as enemies and they don't even speak with a common voice and so can be easily satisfied by a second fiddle role

How is he going to win anything after alienating 99.9% of the country??
Re: The True Enemies Of Ndigbo. by djon78(m): 8:02pm On Jul 23, 2013
The main source of Igbos problem is lack of real, honest and visionary leadership, all the leaders we have are after their own interest.
The right Igbo leadership will focus on economic development of the South east cos the Igbos have the qualities to improve, sustain and advance the economy of the east, and ther will be no need the so called monthly allocation. Thats why there is need for emergence of new, focused and visionary leaders from the East, things cant continue being like this.

Nonsense! GEJ is the President of Nigeria today due to providence. First it was the DO-OR-DIE politics of OBJ that imposed Yar Adua and GEJ on Nigeria. Next, the death of Yar Adua meant GEJ automatically became president of Nigeria. In both situations, the Nigerian people (from north to south) had NO say.

The question now is, with GEJ as president, what manner of politics should the southeast play? Should the southeast oppose and fight GEJ like some elements from the far north are currently doing? Should the southeast use the Boko Haram method to make the country ungovernable for GEJ? Should the southeast cooperate with GEJ and at the same time attract more federal projects and appointments?

You can make your choice, but I think the best option is the politics of cooperation with GEJ. With this option, the southeast will attract more federal projects and be the front runner zone in the politics of 2019. Whether we like it or not, if GEJ wins re-election in 2015, he'll be the king maker, atleast at the primary election level, in 2019.

But personally, besides the psychology of having someone from ones tribe occupy the number one position, I'm not really keen on this tribal politics stuff. All I desire for Nigeria and for the southeast is development, development and DEVELOPMENT.

Sambo must stay. He's been a very fitting deputy for GEJ. So far, Namadi Sambo has been loyal to a fault. In fact, I see Sambo possibly as the northern candidate to beat come 2019.

I didn't write anything different. I have NEVER been under any illusion or stated anywhere that GEJ will hand over to the southeast. If GEJ wins re-election in 2015, by 2019, the south would have ruled for 17yrs out of the 20yrs of the fourth democratic dispensation. Consequently, for continued peace and unity of the country, it is only fair for power to return to the north in 2019. The southeast will easily grab the VP position then.

Our true enemy isnt any but ourselves.
Ive watched with shame how some low-lives professing to be Ibos are cursing BRF, Tinubu, Rochas, Shoyinka, shamelessly calling Lagos our state here, when we have far more pressing problems in our homeland.
Imagine someone like T. Orji ruling my state, and a charlatan like Obi ruling a wonderful state such as Anambra, and yet we ignore our house which is on fire, worship GEJ who is only using Ndigbo for personal political benefits. Im ashamed....What wont we do for money...

when did igbo political solvency become a concern to you?i think ndi-igbo should not be your problem at the moment focus on your tribe and look for a way 2 contribute on lifting them out of poverty..

Stop this nonsense. How can you have a president from ND and a vice from SE? There are even SE states in the Niger Delta and Niger Deltans in Igbo states.

Useless thread

They seems to care more about what they are eating right at a particular moment than the consequences of what they are eating. If not why do u call Amaechi's tribe subgroup of igbo, yet when he is being maltreated unjustly because of the powers he has to become Vp or even president, they could not stand by him, infact they were even calling for his head to be cut. In few years time if d same man survive this onslaught and become Vp or president, you will see them hailing him and telling him that other tribes hate him just like gej. This is not how to play politics, u have to have ideals which can not be compromised my money or material things, if u want indigbo to rise to certain level stand by it, fight 4 it and work it out, do not be bought by anything untill u get such thing.

A beg, leave Amaechi matter out of this. Amaechi has his personal agenda or ambition. Even other southsouth governors are not with him.

I just use Amaechi as an illustration of what is happening in our todays political settings, this people ar natural business men and average African business man go for quick profit only, not minding the future effect because he will always switch business to d next rewarding one.

Igbos have not shown real seriousness in governance over the years. Their pechant or unquenchable taste for gains rather than leadership has seen them running to pinch tent with whosoever is at the centre. Clean, clear ideology over their stomach is what is required. You can't be agitating for a presidency, at the same time clamouring for a Biafran state, and in another hand making claims that Gej is an igbo president. All of these doesn't add up. It will be save to say that Gej is currently serving their term base on your claims. Politics is won with ideology and not on the alter of threat, sentiment, deceit and falsehood which is the 'tactical' weapons currently and wrongly deployed by both South east and south south.
