candidates for admission into the Full-time 2-year
Higher National Diploma programmes of Lagos State

B .Entry Requirements
2- YEAR HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA
PROGRAMMES
The general entry requirements for all Higher
National Diploma (HND) Programmes are as follows:
Candidates are required to satisfy SSCE/GCE/NECO/
NABTEB entry requirements for the corresponding
National Diploma programme.
Candidates are required to have completed a
relevant National Diploma Programme at not below
LOWER CREDIT classification.
Candidates are required to have at least one year
post- ND industrial work experience.
Candidates are required to forward photocopies of
credentials to the Registry in Ikorodu Campus for
screening and clearance respectively upon
submission of application form on-line.
C. Important Notice
Candidates applying for HND Programmes are
expected to submit copies of the following:
Application Form
'O' level result
ND Letter of Completion or Certificate
Birth Certificate
Industrial attachment discharge letter to the Deputy
Registrar, (Academic Board Matters & Admissions),
Full Time Programmes, Ikorodu Campus.
Candidates are advised to ensure that they
personally and not by proxy fill in correct
information. The Polytechnic would not be liable for
any erroneous information contained in the filled
form.
Each applicant is advised to provide correct and
functional e-mail address and telephone number(s)
when completing the application form. For details on

Procedure for Online Applications
Applicants are expected to:
Purchase N7,500 e-Tranzact PIN(Exclusive of Bank
charges) from ANY Bank to complete the application
form on-line;
Log on to LASPOTECH's website at http://
www.laspotech.net
Click on the "2013/2014 Admission Applications" link
at the left corner.
Click "Complete your application or Want to print out
application"
Fill the application form provided. Ensure that you
provide accurate data at all times. In addition to your
personal information, you will be required to provide
your WAEC/GCE/NECO result as well as previous
educational history.
Ensure you print out your Application form, fee
payment receipt and keep them safely.
You will be required to upload a colour passport
photograph of NOT MORE THAN 20kb in size.
Print your completed application form before
submission. You will be required to present this at a
later date, so keep it safely.
Successful candidates must adhere strictly to the
registration procedure as highlighted on the
Polytechnic website.
The Institution is non-residential. Students will
therefore be required to make their own
arrangements for accommodation and
transportation.

1. SCHOOL OF AGRICULTURE
AGRICULTURAL TECHNOLOGY
FISHERIES TECHNOLOGY
Candidates must possess the West African School
Certificate or Senior Secondary Certificate or GCE/O'
Level or its equivalent with a minimum of five credits
at not more than two sittings in English Language,
Agricultural Science, Mathematics and any two from
the following subjects: Geography, Biology,
Chemistry, Physics, Economics / Commerce,
Technical Drawing, Food & Nutrition, Home
Economics, French Language, Nigerian Language.
At least a Pass in Chemistry is compulsory.
2. SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT& BUSINESS
STUDIES
ACCOUNTANCY
BANKING AND FINANCE
BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION & MANAGEMENT
INSURANCE
MARKETING
SSCE or WASCE or GCE O'Level or NECO with at least
5 credits at one sitting, which must include: English
Language (not Literature in English) and
Mathematics and any three subjects from the
following: Economics, Commerce, Business Methods/

OFFICE TECHNOLOGY AND MANAGEMENT

Economics/ Commerce, Typewriting, Shorthand,
Principles of Accounts/Book Keeping, Mathematics,
History, Statistics, Literature in English, Government,
Geography, Biology, CRK/Islamic Studies, any one
Science subject.
NABTEB: With at least five credits at one sitting,
which must include English Language, Shorthand
and Typing and two other subjects from the
following: Principles of Accounts, Commerce, Biology,
Economics or Social Studies.
MASS COMMUNICATION
SSCE or WASCE O'level or NECO with at least five (5)
credits at one sitting, which must include: English
Language, and Mathematics and any other three
subjects from: History, Literature in English,
Economics, Commerce, Fine Arts, Government, CRK/
IRK, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Basic Electricity,
Geography, Typewriting, Principles of Accounting,
Any Nigerian Language.
Passes in Physics or Electronics/Basic Electricity will
be an advantage.
3. SCHOOL OF TECHNOLOGY
HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY
SSCE or WASCE or GCE O'level or NECO with at least
five credits at two sittings, which must include:
Biology/Agricultural Science/Health Science,
Mathematics, English Language and any two of the
following: Physics, Chemistry, Government,
Economics/Commerce, Food and Nutrition/Home
Management, Health Science, Geography, French
Language, Book Keeping/Accounts, Mathematics,
Home Economics, Business Methods.
OR NABTEB: With at least five credits at two sittings,
which must include Biology, Food & Nutrition and
Basic Cookery and two other subjects from the
following: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics,
Economics, Basic Electronics, English and Home
Management. At least a Pass in English Language is
compulsory.
SCIENCE LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY
SSCE or WASCE or GCE O'level or NECO with at least
five credits at two sittings, which must include:
Mathematics, English Language and two subjects
from Physics, Biology/ Agricultural Science, Health
Science, Geography, and one other subject from
Technical Drawing, Metal or Wood-Work, Chemistry,
Basic Electricity, Economics, Further Mathematics,
and Fine Art
At least a Pass in each of the three basic sciences i.e.
Biology, Chemistry, Physics is required.
COMPUTER SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY
SSCE or WASCE or GCE O'level or NECO with at least
five (5) credits at one sitting, which must include
Mathematics, English Language, a basic science, and
any two other subjects chosen from the following:
Economics, Geography, Chemistry, Further/
Additional Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Biology/
Agricultural Science and Typewriting.
Candidates are expected to have at least a pass in
Physics. OR
NABTEB: With at least five credits at one sitting,
which must include Mathematics, Physics and Basic
Electronics and two subjects from the following:
Biology, Chemistry, and General Metal Work.
FOOD TECHNOLOGY
SSCE or WASCE or GCE O'level or NECO with a
minimum of five credits at two sittings, which must
include English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics,
Biology/ Agricultural Science/Health Science and any
one subject from: Physics, Economics/ Commerce,
Additional/Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing,
Home Economics, Food & Nutrition, Geography . At
least Pass in Physics is compulsory.
LEISURE & TOURISM TECHNOLOGY

five credits at two sittings, which must include:
English Language, Mathematics, Geography, a basic
science and one subject from Economics/Commerce,
History, Book Keeping, Principles of Account, Fine Art,
French Language, Government, Food & Nutrition,

4. SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES
ART & INDUSTRIAL DESIGN
SSCE or WASCE or GCE O'level or NECO with at least
five credits at two sittings which must include:
English Language, and any other four credit passes
from the following: History/Government, Chemistry/
Physics, Fine Art, Biology/Agricultural Science,
Mathematics, Literature in English, Clothing &
Textiles, Religious Knowledge, Economics/Commerce,
Geography, Home Economics.
BUILDING TECHNOLOGY
QUANTITY SURVEYING TECHNOLOGY
SSCE or WASCE or GCE O'level or NECO with at least
five credits at two sittings which must include:
English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any two
of the following: Economics/Economics, Technical
Drawing/Fine Art, Chemistry, Geography, Wood-
Work, Biology, Religious Knowledge, Metal Work,
Building Construction and Physics.
A Pass in Fine Art or Technical Drawing will be an
advantage. OR
NABTEB: With at least five credit at two sittings,
which must include: Mathematics, Physics/Chemistry
and General Woodwork, and two subject from the
following: Economics, Biology and English Language.
ESTATE MANAGEMENT
SSCE or WASCE or GCE O'level or NECO with at least
five credit at two sittings, which must include
Mathematics, English Language and at least a basic
science subject from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
and any two subjects from the following: Geography,
Economics/ Commerce, Principle of Accounts,
Literature in English, Metal Work, Wood Work, Art,
Technical Drawing and Book Keeping
OR NABTEB: With at least five credits at two sittings,
which must include English, Mathematics and one
basic science from Physics, Biology and Chemistry,
and two subjects from the following: General
Woodwork, General Metal Work, Economics, Building
Engineering Drawing, and Principles of Accounts and
Agricultural Science. SSCE or WASCE or GCE O'level
or NECO with at least five credits at two sittings
which must include: English Language, Mathematics
and Physics and any two from the following:
Chemistry, Biology, Technical Drawing, Art,
Geography, History, Further Mathematics,
Economics/ Commerce, Business Methods, and
Religious Knowledge.
At least a pass in Fine Art or Technical Drawing will
be an advantage.
NABTEB: With at least five credits at two sittings,
which must include: Mathematics, Physics/Chemistry
and General Woodwork, and any two from the
following: Economics, Biology and English Language.
QUANTITY SURVEYING TECHNOLOGY
NABTEB: With at least five credits at two sittings,
which must include: Mathematics, Physics/Chemistry
and General Woodwork, and any two from the
following: Economics, Biology and English Language.
At least a Pass in English Language is compulsory.
URBAN & REGIONAL PLANNING
SSCE or WASCE or GCE O'level or NECO with at least
five credits at two sittings, which must include
Mathematics, English Language, Geography and two
other subjects from the following: Economics/
Commerce, Technical Drawing/ Art, Chemistry,
Physics, Biology/ Agricultural Science, Further
Mathematics, History/ Government, Business
Methods/Book Keeping and Principles of Account.
One of the two subjects must be a basic science
subject OR
NABTEB: With at least five credits at two sittings,
which must include Mathematics, English Language
and at least a basic science subject from Physics,
Biology and Chemistry, and two subjects from the
following: General Woodwork, General Metal Work,
Economics, Building Engineering Drawing, and
Principles of Accounts.

3. Candidates are required to have at least one
year post- ND industrial work experience.
D. Mature Candidates:
Candidates with lower qualifications than the ones
stated above but with at least three (3) relevant
Credits and two (2) Passes could be considered for
admission, provided such candidates are not below
the age of 40 years and have a minimum of 15 years
work experience at a SUPERVISORY LEVEL
