Re: Nairaland Couples by hotangel2(f): 4:14am On Sep 02, 2005
cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

Were y'all really going to do this behind my back? And uhmm, you have to ask cimonjorr for my hand in marriage. if he allows you, you'll have to ask skima for my leg in marriage, if he agrees, you'll have to ask Ra for my stomach in marriage, IF she agrees, you'll have to make sure i divorce all my husbands and send all my suitors away, and if they are all gone, You'll have to ask the bootylicious sisters for my whole body in marriage.... sorry to disappoint you, but they won't agree. grin grin grin

Between, I smell something. *sniff, sniff*.
Re: Nairaland Couples by DEKING3(m): 8:21am On Sep 02, 2005
Now priest you've got a counselling job to do. grin
Re: Nairaland Couples by layi(m): 11:39am On Sep 02, 2005
Who do i consel now? Definitely not HotA
Re: Nairaland Couples by DEKING3(m): 5:12pm On Sep 02, 2005
Why not? She should be there. Infact priest, I'ld suggest you call all the parties involved to sort out themselves so that none would say it was done in his absence shocked.

Maybe a competition to prove their love for our hotty babe would not be out of place grin
Re: Nairaland Couples by WesleyanA(f): 11:11pm On Sep 02, 2005
i think this priest thing is becoming a huge task for only layi to handle. we need an assistant priest.

de-king do you volunteer? hehe
Re: Nairaland Couples by Greatpeter(m): 11:32pm On Sep 02, 2005
Why this priest again when I've been ordained by HA as epastor of this forum.

Laiku egiri a ko le fawo re se gbedu.
O seewo!
Re: Nairaland Couples by WesleyanA(f): 11:33pm On Sep 02, 2005
wha language is that now. GP? rolleyes speak what we understand.
Re: Nairaland Couples by Greatpeter(m): 11:34pm On Sep 02, 2005
I am trying to promote yoruba via nairaland.
Yoruba is sweet.
Re: Nairaland Couples by WesleyanA(f): 11:36pm On Sep 02, 2005
i actually thought it was hausa..hehe..
yeah yoruba rocks. cool
Re: Nairaland Couples by Greatpeter(m): 11:38pm On Sep 02, 2005
hausa too is not bad.

You pronounce PDP as FDF

PDP actually means People deceive people.( the largest party in Africa) grin
Re: Nairaland Couples by WesleyanA(f): 11:42pm On Sep 02, 2005
i know right?

but can you translate what you said earlier. are you sure it's yoruba?
Re: Nairaland Couples by Greatpeter(m): 11:46pm On Sep 02, 2005
It simply means "you can not enthrone another king when the one on the throne is still alive.
Re: Nairaland Couples by WesleyanA(f): 11:47pm On Sep 02, 2005
wait. i meant to say its literal translation.. . as in word for word.
Re: Nairaland Couples by Greatpeter(m): 11:52pm On Sep 02, 2005
Ah that will be hard for me oo.
I confess.

Gbedu actually means drum, awo means skin and some drums are being covered by animal skin.

So there is an animal whose skin is very good at covering drums because it is thick and durable.
So if the animal is alive no jupiter can use it's skin to make drums.
i hope you get the tip.

I suck at this.
Re: Nairaland Couples by WesleyanA(f): 11:56pm On Sep 02, 2005

i knew that wasn't yoruba!
what's egiri, what's o seewo.. . . i still want to know what that sentence mean. word for word. hehe
Re: Nairaland Couples by Greatpeter(m): 11:58pm On Sep 02, 2005
O seewo means it's a tarboo.
It's yoruba but there are some you can't translate word for word.
We call it ijijle yoruba.

Just like idioms or vocab.
Re: Nairaland Couples by twinkledew(f): 12:45am On Sep 03, 2005
lol
Re: Nairaland Couples by hotangel2(f): 7:20am On Sep 03, 2005
Wesley.. shocked

Greatpeter:

Laiku egiri a ko le fawo re se gbedu.
O seewo!

laiku - without the death of
egiri - an animal that has a powerful skin
a - we
ko - cannot
le - use
Fawo - skin
re - his
se - to
gbedu - some sort of clothing or something made from the egiri.

O seewo is ewo -- taboo.
Re: Nairaland Couples by DEKING3(m): 12:09pm On Sep 03, 2005
Y'all pls come back. You're derailing.
Now back to the topic. Gp it won't be out of place to have an e-priest and e-pastor. What do you think?
@wesley, as you can see, 2 people are already dragging about it, so, I don't think so.
Re: Nairaland Couples by layi(m): 12:33pm On Sep 03, 2005
GP, ther's a big diff btw E-Priest and E-pastor.

GP u r the pastor. Keep preaching the word and counselling pips.

I'm the priest, I'll keep tiein dem knots.
Re: Nairaland Couples by Greatpeter(m): 2:11pm On Sep 04, 2005
