A group – Middle Belt Dialogue - has urged the Chairman of Northern States Governors Forum, Dr. Babangida Aliyu and his counterparts from Kano, Adamawa and Jigawa States to stop shopping for a northern presidential candidate to replace President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015, stressing that the region (Middle Belt) will not support the arrangement.

The group described the visit of the governors to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Ibrahim Babangida and Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar as an attempt to report President Jonathan, assuring that the Middle Belt region will continue to support Jonathan beyond 2015.
