They carefully constructed a special tank at the booth of an Audi salon car where they conceal arms for shipment to the north. Recovered from them while negotiating to buy some AK 47 rifles was N300,000 cash, an Audi 80 [EA 80 ABC, Abuja] and a Mercedes Benz 190 [PU 854 AAA, Lagos]. Shodipo while parading the suspects who had confessed to the crime, described Anietie Etim as the link man at Ikang community in Bakassi Local Government Area who sources for the arms for sale to buyers. He said Etim owned the Mercedes 190 car and has no visible means of livelihood except crime. He assumed duties in the state a few months ago. But THISDAY gathered that four other members of the gun running syndicate escaped arrest and were being trailed by the police. The Audi car had an extra tank constructed for fuel so that once they take off from Bakassi they won’t stop to re-fuel till they get to their destination. Shodipo said four robbers took part in the operation using a Golf Car but“upon information and grim determination to smash this deadly gang, my officers and men set out to work and the following robbery suspects who took part in the above cases were apprehended on July 24, 2013. “They are Hopeman Etim, 22; Edem Effiong Ettah, 21; Ofem Odinta, 21; Edmond Ubi Arikpo, 27 and Okorn Okorn Obla. Ekpo told journalists that he collected a dagger from Francis to stab Odinaka and blamed it on the devil saying he did not know what came over him to commit such a crime. Soon it shall be revealed that GEJ is behind the Boko Haram insurgency in the north. We have long suspected this fact. 2015 shall reveal all that GEJ has done to destroy the north in his illegitimate quest to retain power. |
