The Immunity Clause Contradicts And Fights Against Real Democracy And Justice. by Afroconnect: 7:50am On Jul 29, 2013
All conscious Nigerians, alive and reasonable- must stand up against this immunity clause. We should work with our Laws and constitution.
Immunity clause is a license to impunity, and impunity is a threat to democracy, because without a firm, unbiased, autonomous judiciary structure the centre can not hold.
The judiciary is the lifeline of any Nation,a truly independent judiciary framework, where evidence not connections and corruption dictate. It is up to all Nigerians to demand a fair judiciary in order for us to save our Nation,a judiciary that supersedes even the Executive arm because we can not count on the credibility and integrity of Nigerian politicians.
The immunity clause must go and we need a free, autonomous judiciary if indeed we want our democracy to thrive in a peaceful Nigeria.
No peace without justice.
