I keep wondering where people got this statement from. Our Father in the LORD Paul called himself a father to the Corinthian church (1 Cor. 4:15), but Jesus expressly stated in Mat. 23:8-9 8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. 9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. This reference is obviously pointing to the father in the lord thing since Jesus took up the issue as related to the teacher - master title. So house why is your GO your father in the lord |
