@AnOlAd, While I know you deliberately cast aspersion on Hausas and muslims but pretended you did not mean to, I will anwer you. Child molestation is not peculiar to a tribe or religion; you know this. Last week or thereabout, a deeper life pastor in the South East confessed he molested a under age. All, How often do you hear offenders get prosecuted and jailed if guilty. Many sex offenders be it under age or not go unpunished. The reason being that our process to investigate sex crime and judicial process of prosecuting accused persons do not protect the victims well enough. The fear of stigmatization that could come from the flawed legal and investigative system discourage many victims and their families and have embolden the perpetrators. Have you ever witnessed how police interogate ladies reporting sex abuses? Sometimes really absurb and degrading I must say. It is disappointing that the senate that should focus on working to correct these obvious lapses in the system was busy trying to legalize child marriage. Sure, Nigeria needs serious help. 1 Like |

The fear of the likes of Yerimma had made many of these cases of child molestation go unreported in the North. Imagine a man with 11 kids molesting a child, when this girl ends up on the street then Yerimma will use them as reference for his poetic defence about the street he live in.
