Bauchi Bank Attack: Police Recover 207 Ammunition by Nobody: 9:46am On Aug 02, 2013
The Bauchi State Police Command recovered 207 live ammunition and 14 magazines from the hoodlums thatattacked a bank in Alkaleri on Monday, Daily Trust gathered.
An Inspector of police and a member of the robbery gang were killed during a gun duel between the gunmen and policemen.
The state Police Commissioner, Mohammed Ladan, in a statement said already investigation has commencedinto the matter. He added that a day after the incident, policemen went into the bush, combed the area and arrested one Muhammadu Nasiru of FantamiWard in Gombe State. He further stated that the suspect confessed to taking part in the crime.
“The arrested suspect took police detectives to the area where they concealed three AK 47 riffles eight magazines, 145 rounds of ammunition, one undetonated IED. We also recovered two magazines which contained eight rounds of live ammunition”, he said.
The commissioner who gave the name of the inspectorkilled as Adamu Madugu, added that the hoodlums also attacked the Alkaleri Divisional Police Station, butthey couldn’t gain entry as they were repelled.
