DEFINITION
Beauty is the combination of qualities that give pleasure to the moral senses or the intellect.Hence beauty of Islam logically means the qualities and teaching of Islam which make it spiritually,intellectually and socially acceptable,pleasing and satisfying human conditions in terms of peaceful relationship with the Creator and creatures.

WHAT IS ISLAM?
Technically,Islam is the total submission and obedience to the will and law of Allah for the attainment of peace in man’s life. The word ‘Islam’ originates from SALAM (i.e. PEACE).One of the attributes of Allah is AS-SALAM meaning THE GOD OF PEACE (Surah Al-Hashr 59:23).Those who worship Him are called Muslim (Peaceful people) (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:128).Their greeting when meet is Peace (Surah An-Nisa 4:86). The concluding words of their prayer are words of Peace .Their approach to every matter is Peace (Surah Al-Furqan 25:63).The Paradise which will be their final abode is Home of Peace . (Surah An-Anam 6:127).The only ways to attain salvation and everlasting peace in one’s journey is through Islam.(Surah Al-Imran 3:19).

Nevertheless Islam never took advantages of its peaceful qualities to force people to accept the beautiful religion.As Allah said in the glorious Quran in Surah Al-Baqarah 2:256-“There is no compulsion in the religion,surely right has become distinct from the wrong,whosoever do not want to be led astray by the transgressor,should believe in Allah and has grasped a strong handle which knows no breaking…

QURAN THE PERFECT BOOK:
Quran is the divine manual to operate man’s life brought down by the holy spirit(Angel Jibrael) from Almighty Allah (Surah An-Nahl 16:102).
Beauty of Islam glitters because of the authenticity,unchangeable and perfect nature of the Quran.The book is unique in its revelation,compilation,recitation, teachings,applications and practicability of its doctrines.
When compared with other so-called holy books,Quran remains,incorruptible and has ever been edited over 1433years of its revelation (Surah Al-Hijr 15 9),yet it advances with time and offers convenience proof for every generation (Surah Al-Hijr 15: 9).
It lacks nothing untreated in man’s life (Surah Al-Anam 6:38),it corrects other so called divine revelations of other religions (Surah Al-Maidah 5:48),cannot be forged by any creature (Surah Al-Isra 17:88).It brings man out of every darkness into perfect light (Surah Ibrahim 14:1).

Without Quran,the spiritual purpose and honourable post for which mankind had been created would have been frustrated (Surah Al-Isra 17:9;Surah An-Anbiyaa 21:10).

ISLAM AND NATURE:
Islam is the natural religion that follows the universal law of nature which is the praise and glorification of Almighty God, and for which every creature is created (Surah Al-Isra 17:44).It frees itself from impurities such as idolatry and polytheism artificially produced by man,it resists itself from bad changes of time such as corruption,oppression and hypocrisy, homosexual and excessive freedom.Islam compromises nothing for its beautiful and natural ideology,moral standard and worship,it put everything in universe in it pure nature in relations to other creatures and God.Thus it is the code of life revealed to serve as the correct formation for man’s characters and behaviors and a mode of life necessary for building a sound and progressive society characterized by justice and peace which is in harmony with Allah’s will.
Allah says in Surah Ar-Rum 30:30- “Set your face to the faith,Allah’s nature on which He has created mankind,there is no change in the nature,that is the standard religion but most men know not”

ISLAM AND GOD:
Islam revealed the true knowledge about oneness of Lordship of Allah.It gives God its due esteem which cannot be found or matched with any other religion.It maintains that there is only one Lord and He is Allah whom true worship and prayer is due- Surah Ar-Rad 13:14.
Islam is second to none in establishing a reasonable,unconfused fact of unshared attributes of God,neither does it named or qualified God what He is not.Allah is the name without equivalent,He is the true God,Lord and King of mankind (Surah Ikhlas114:1-2).He is absolute,shares no human qualities or imperfect such as weakness, sleeping,mistakes,hunger,regret or forgetfulness.He is immortal without partners,beget not nor was He begotten (Surah Ikhlas 112:1-4).
The most beautiful names more than ninety-nine are given to Allah in Islam! These are really lacking in any other faith. (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:255;Surah Al-Hashr 59:22-24).

ISLAM AND MAN:
Beauty of Islam shines brightly on man by bringing him out of darkness of polytheism into the light of monotheism(Surah Ibrahim 14:1).It absolves man from hereditary/original sin,as man born was born in a state of natural purity of true faith of Islamic monotheism (Surah Ar-Rum30: 30),and with God spirit (Surah Al-Hijr 15: 29).It discloses to man that Satan has no power over him as long as he remains a submissive servant of Almighty Allah (Surah Al-Hijr 15:39-42) and that sin in man’s life is acquired not inborn and avoidable not inevitable (Surah Al-Anam 6:116;Surah Az-Zukhruf 43:36).

Islam regard every pious Muslim as the vicegerent of Allah and links him directly to his Lord without any intermediary (Surah Ghafir 40:60),it gives no preference to men over women but according to individual piety (Surah Al-Hujurat 49:13).
It makes it clear that man has been granted honour above all other creatures (Surah Al-Isra 17:70),and reminds man of his purpose of creation which is to worship Allah (Surah Ad-Dhariyat 51:56).And that man will inevitably be rewarded or punished for his deeds (Surah An-Najm 53:41).
Beauty of Islam scintillates during Ramadan as the pure or angelic nature of man and the probability of implementing God’s kingdom on earth is confirmed.

SOLAT THE TRUE WORSHIP:
Worship in Islam is beautifully made up of faith and duties which is entirely devoid of all show and ceremony and it is completely for God (Surah An-Anbiyaa 21:92).Solat is the work to express one’s faith,it is peak of worship without which,nothing can be called worship.Because of its importance, all the prophets reported by Christianity, Islam and Judaism observed the critical aspect of the salat at one time or the other in their life time.It is a form of intellectual meditation,spiritual devotion,moral elevation as well as physical exercise.
In it you see men communing with Allah, showing the natural pattern of submission of all creatures in life (Surah Hajj 22:18). Men take position such as standing erect like a tree,bending like the quadrupeds, rising from bowing like the bird and flight, prostrating like the reptiles and sitting like the inanimate objects (Surah Hajj 22:77).

It suppresses evil and indecent inclinations in men (Surah Al-Ankabout 29:45).There is beauty in the mode of worship of Muslims, as they perform solat the same manner at the same time of day,observe the same number of salat,face the same direction in prayer (Qiblah),use the same language (Arabic) to worship,read the same standard, unrevised/ unedited divine book in its pristine language-Al Quran.
Failure to perform solat is failure to enter paradise (Surah Al-Qalam 68:42-44).

CLEANINESS IN ISLAM:
It is uncontestable fact that Islam is the owner of highest cleanliness order.Islam naturally cleanses both the inner and outer aspect of man.It commands purity of intention,cleanliness of physical outlook and of what you takes in.It is an Islamic injunction that before the five daily salat Muslims must perform ablution or ritual bath as the case may be (Surah An-Nisa 4:43).
Islam declared that all things which are pure in themselves are lawful for diet while impure ones are harmful as diets (Surah Al-Araf 7:157).It forbids foods and drinks with destructive ability on man’s health and moral behaviors,such include intoxicant, swine,dead animal etc. (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:173;Surah Al-Maidah 5:47).

Observing this and performing the five daily salat with pure heart/intention,in clean body and clothes,on clean ground, constantly have vital and beneficial effect on one’s health and very effective in spiritual upliftment,after all, “cleanliness they say, is next to godliness”.And it is only Islam that observes it in its true sense (Surah An-Nisa 4:6).

HAJJ IN ISLAM:
Hajj is a unique characteristic of Islam,a pilgrimage to Mecca.It allow Muslims to see and acquaint themselves with the spiritual and historical environment of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W)and to observe the first house of God on earth(i.e. kaaba) built by Prophet Ibrahim (A.S)(Surah Al-Imran 3:96-97).
The beauty of hajj is incomparable being the largest annual convention of faith,as well as the greatest regular peace conference known in the history of mankind.There,Muslims from all walks of life and from every corner of the globe assemble at Mecca to praise Allah in response to His call (Surah Hajj 22:26-37). They dress in same simple way,observe the same regulations,and utter the same supplication,at the same time,in the same way and for the same end and worship Allah.
It really demonstrates the brotherhood and universality of Islam as well as equality of mankind and a reminder of the scene of the Day of Resurrection.


RELIGION OF ALL PROPHETS/PATH OF IBRAHIM:
Beautifully enough,all the prophets of Allah reported by all divine books were Muslims. They came to salvage mankind through Islam.They preached Islam by proclaiming oneness of God and complete obedience to Him in worship,none of them ever proclaimed to people that he (prophet) was Lord or God and never asked people to worship him but the God who sent him (Surah Al-Anbiyaa 21:25).
To this effect,Allah says in Surah As-Shura 42:13- “He has prescribed for you (men) the religion which He enjoined on Noah and which he revealed to thee (Muhammad) and which We enjoined on Abraham and Moses and 'Jesus' saying,remain steadfast in obedience to Allah and be not divided therein…”.
Thus in Islam there is neither distinction between any of the prophets and the message they brought (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:135-137),an assurance for the true Muslims of today that they are on the right path trod by their predecessor prophets and that there is no salvation outside Islam (Surah Al-Imran 3:83-85).
Most importantly,Islam is the path of Ibrahim.Allah says in Surah Al-Imran 3:67- “Ibrahim was neither a Jew nor a Christian,but he was ever inclined to Allah as a Muslim and he was not of those who associate gods with Allah”.
He then commands us in Surah Hajj 22:78- “…follow therefore the faith of your father Ibrahim,he named you Muslims both before and in this book…''
“And who will turn away from the faith of Ibrahim but he who is foolish of mind?...”(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:130).


[b]ISLAM AND THE SCIENCE:
Islam and its books command all Muslims to search for knowledge.Being a natural religion and absolutely truthful,it has been withstanding challenges and supporting discoveries in research.
For example recent WHO/ UNICEF recommendation on breast feeding has been in Surah Al-Baqarah 2:233 for centuries before the pronouncement. Scientific facts and clues on natural phenomenon are revealed in it, these include,the principle of two genders in all beings (Surah Yasin 36:36),the state of celestial body before separating into planets (Surah Al-Anbiyaa 21:30),process of formation of rainfall (Surah An-Nur 24:43), description of evolution of the embryo inside uterus (Surah Al-Muminoon 23:12-14),curative effect of honey bees (Surah An-Nahl 16:68-69) among others.Islam therefore invites to cultivate science.

BATHED WITH GUIDANCE:
Islam is second to none in its guidance.The prophet(pbuh) told the Muslims:“I am leaving for you two things which if you hold fast to them you will never go astray. These are the book of Allah and my tradition”.
Allah says in Surah Al-Anam 6:38- “We have left nothing unmentioned in the book- Al Quran”
No other faithful of other religion enjoys what Muslims enjoy as guidance in their faith,in terms of belief,worship,judgment, and social life.Only Islam has its Prophet experienced comprehensive way of human life and laid the precept being copied by the followers as sunnah.Neither the gods, prophets,nor oracles of any other faith set such ample example of true human life as found in Islam.The sunnah of the prophet is such a strong guidance that it does not allow Muslims to degenerate morally or bastardize the faith.
And the promise of Allah that says in Surah Al-Hijr 15:9- We are the one who revealed the book (Al- Quran) and we will be its guidance” is no doubt proving itself as the book is standing the test of time against every tendency of corruption and bastardization of worship and nature of true God even against corrupt,ignorant and extreme Muslims.
And ultimately,Allah says in Surah As-Saff 61:9-“Allah sent His messenger with the guidance and religion of truth (Islam) that He may cause it to prevail over all other religions,even if those who associate partners with God hate it”.


CERTIFIED AND FAVOURED:
Allah says in Surah An-Nahl 16:18- “And if you will count the beautiful favours of Allah (In Islam),never could you be able to count them…”.
Beauties such as zakat for the welfare of the poor (Surah Taubah 9:60);marriage life on piety instead of celibacy with sexual abuse (Q57: 27; 24: 32); polygamy in lieu of concubines (Surah An-Nisa 4:3);political life (Islamic state) base on sound spiritual and moral guided by divine instruction (Surah Al-Maidah 5:47-50;Surah Al-Isra 17:9).
Islam sets ways for the attainment of moral perfection,its social principle are sound, unique,adaptive and reasonable.Human nature is well considered to suit natural instinct,respect and welfare of mankind (Surah Al-Isra 17:22-39).
Islam has a clear cut injunction on every matter.These and many more made Allah issued the certificate of perfection for Islam which is surely absent in any other faith:
“…today, have I (Allah) completed my favour upon you (Muslims) and perfected your religion and choose for you Islam as the only religion...” (Surah Al-Maidah 5:3)


[b]INVITATION:
Out of its unselfishness,Islam invites you to its beauties.It warns,advises and orders the strayed,those who have abandoned or polluted either or both thee true faith and its duty- worship that: “Turn back in repentance to Allah and fear Him,establish regular salat and do not join those who join gods with Allah, those who split up their religion and become sects…” (Surah Rum 30:31-32).

Become a true Muslim,it will be better for you! Surely artificial beautification will wither away and find no place in the Hereafter -Surah Al-Furqan 25:23.

Allah has affirmed that there is no salvation outside Islam,Allah says in Surah Al-Imran 3:85- “Whosoever seek a religion other than Islam,it shall not be accepted from him and in the hereafter,he shall be among the losers”
