Job Title I: Crane and Power Electricians

Purpose of the Job:
1. Perform the maintenance/repair activities and evaluations for generators, motors, programmable logical controllers, electrical drive systems, electrical/electronic control systems, on the terminal’s equipment.
2. Ensure efficient utilization of company resources and compliance with statutory requirements and established engineering standards

Key Activities:
1. Perform scheduled maintenance and unscheduled breakdown maintenance on equipment assigned to Crane & Power Section for maintenance.
2. Receive and execute instructions and decisions from the Crane & Power Maintenance Foreman;
3. Provide Work Order planning information as required to Maintenance Planner or Foreman;
4. Ensure adherence to established safety practices in the execution of assignments and in the use of tools, equipment and machinery;
5. Perform maintenance activities on a daily/weekly/monthly basis;
6. Troubleshoot and effect repairs on electrical and electronic circuits, digital drive and control systems, programmable logic controllers and electrical component elements. This includes the modification of components and servicing techniques in conjunction with the Crane & Power Maintenance Foreman to improve efficiency;
7. Service, repair, deploy, remove and stow away equipment as required using safe driving techniques and safe parking procedures;
8. Identify components to be overhauled;
9. Complete post-job tasks – clean up, return of spares etc;
10. Provide correct information on Work Orders and other job documentation, ensuring an accurate record of work performed, time taken to complete work, spare parts and materials used etc;
11. Execute proper handover of equipment to Operations;

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
1. At least 1 or 2 Years experience in handling high voltage machines and VERY HEAVY MACHINERY.
2. Diploma in Electrical Engineering from recognized institution;
3. One (1) to Four (4) years experience in technical maintenance and repair activities and evaluations for relevant equipment
4. Excellent spatial and mechanical abilities
5. Sound knowledge of the operations and maintenance of the tools/equipment used in execution of duties;
6. Ability to work under pressure, anticipates potential problems and diagnoses, evaluate and resolve technical problems as they happen;

Job Title II: Crane and Power Mechanics

Purpose of the Job:
1. Adhere to preventative and corrective maintenance procedures and schedules in conformance with engineering standards and codes and the relevant statutory regulations;
2. Ensure that operating standards and precautionary measures are adhered to at all times;
3. Execute preventative and corrective maintenance procedures for equipment on the Terminal;

Key Activities:
1. Receive and execute instructions and decisions from the Crane Maintenance Foreman;
2. Perform other related functions required from time to time such as assistance with major emergency work;
3. Provide technical expertise and a positive attitude to the functions performed;
4. Ensure adherence to established safety practices in the execution of assignments and in the use of equipment and machinery;
5. Provide technical expertise and a positive attitude to the functions performed;
6. Participate in the replacement of diesel engines, motors and generators;
7. Perform maintenance activities on a daily/weekly/monthly basis;
8. Test equipment to ensure compliance with specification and safety standards;
9. Service, repair, deploy, remove and stow away equipment as required;
10. Identify components to be overhauled;

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
1. At least 1 or 2 Years experience in handling high voltage machines and VERY HEAVY MACHINERY.
2. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from recognized institution;
3. One (1) to Four (4) years experience in maintenance and repair activities and evaluations for relevant equipment and machinery;
4. Working knowledge of techniques and methods employed in the maintenance of equipment and machines on the Terminal, including Straddle Carriers, road heads, forklift trucks, trailers and other associated equipment;
5. Sound knowledge of relevant mechanical/pneumatic/electronic engineering systems which include hydraulic / pneumatic / electrical circuits, PLC and fault diagnostics systems; combustion / diesel engines, power transmission hydraulic;
6. Ability to prepare and interpret technical drawing/sketches;
7. Sound working knowledge of engineering safety practices;
8. Sound knowledge of the operations of equipment at the Terminal;
9. Ability to align pump/motor/gearbox/generator systems;
10. Good knowledge of the type of lubricants to be used and associated application techniques;
11. Valid Driver’s License
