Emeka used to be my mentor; in fact I

worshiped the round he walked on. Why?

He was a happening guy. He was the top

out of the 13 boys who served their boss

who owned “tellers international” a

company that imported and sold Tiles in the country.

Apart from the money Emeka made from his

petty deals in the shop, his major

source of income was gambling. Emeka is

a big time gambler, be it Casino games,

dice, Cards, poker etc. he knew them

all. What scares me is the amount he

bets with because the lowest amount I’ve

ever seen him bet with is N20,000 at a

go.
I was his boy; I ran errands, carried

his bags, in fact whatever he wanted me

to do I did. I remember one Friday I

went to the casino with him to bet and

he went with N250,000 but we came back

with N1m. That night we clubbed like

there was no tomorrow.....
