MAIDUGURI: Civilian JTF — At least five persons were killed, weekend, following a deadly clash between two rival vigilante youth groups seeking to curb the menace posed by the Boko Haram in Borno State.

The two groups, popularly called ‘civilian JTF’ were fighting over the control of Biu, a town about 190 kilometres from Maiduguri, residents said. “The Civilian JTF in Biu had asked those that came from Maiduguri to leave the town because their presence was likely to cause more harm than good to residents of Biu town,” Abdullahi

We have warned that this will happen

I knew this would happen, and if not properly checked could lead to emergence of another terror group.

Except for illiteracy amongst them, they should have gone to the main military JTF to iron things out and work in harmony.

Another probable conclusion is that, one of the civilian group might have compromised their initial intention and have gone with the BH.

Something needs to be done asap.

its not suprising. However the military should better act fast else after fighting boko haram they might have to deal with this civillian jtf but it will be harder by then
