For Furnishing or decorating your home, choosing and installing the right toilet is one of the main things you will meet. Then how should we choose?
Most toilets are made of vitreous china, which means that they’re impervious to water. It’s a durable material that’s easy to clean, making it the obvious choice for a bathroom. Toilets come in two basic designs:
• One-piece: This style is seamlessly molded together, has a streamlined look, and is, consequently, easy to clean.
• Two-piece: Less expensive than a one-piece unit but slightly more difficult to install, the more typical two-piece toilet has a separate water tank that hangs on the wall and rests on the toilet base or bowl.
According to my experience, most of my clients will choose simple Two-Piece Toilet for the servant room, some choose it for guest room also to save cost. And for master room and all other rooms, people tend to choose One-Piece Toilet because it looks much stronger, tidy and gives a more comfortable feeling. Anyhow, there are more types which is not commonly used for individual house, such as Wall-mounted toilets or the modern electric toilet, which we will discuss next time.
It seems quite easy to choose a toilet, such as the shape you like, and the size or height, most people just choose the standard type, but there are some important things to notice in your quest for the perfect toilet,
• Cleanability: If you consider the ease of cleaning a toilet the most important feature, a smooth-sided bowl is the best choice. And try to check the surface, touch it, the one feel smooth and with few needle eyes should be better.
• Power flushing: Many toilet manufacturers have their own patented flushing systems designed to exceed performance standards. Most of these designs use water pressure to compress air in a chamber. When the toilet is flushed, the air pushes the water out of the chamber at high velocity, flushing the toilet with less water.
• Automatic seat closing: Also called Soft seat closing. Some toilets are designed with a slow-moving hinge that gradually lowers both the seat and lid. In the night nobody want to make big noise as “Bang” when we close the toilet seat lid, so this is important. However, most of the toilets made in China now is of this type already.
• Insulated water tank: To prevent a build-up of moisture on the outside of the tank (a breeding ground for mold and mildew), many toilets have an insulated water tank. The insulation prevents condensation by keeping the cold water inside. This feature is popular in humid climates.
• Two-lever flush: To conserve water, many toilets offer a double-action flushing lever. You push the small lever to release less water for liquids or use the large lever to flush away solid waste.
And interesting thing is people from different countries, cares about different factors even when they choose toilets. For example, oriental people such as Chinese will care more about saving water and easy to clean, while African buyers would like to choose toilet with power flushing system, some of my clients come to patronize me because the toilets they bought from other shops cannot flush away the tissue paper. Anyhow, as producer and seller, we must have in our mind what kind of products we should offer to different clients to meet their demands.
