Corruption is an hydra headed monster that has caged the potentials of Nigeria and Nigerians for a long time.

This demon (corruption) was created by corrupt people who always act in impunity because there are no effective checks and balances to make their nefarious actions un-popular. From the Politicians and Civil servants who receive kick backs and still render mediocre services to the private sector operators who are always ready to cut corners and exploit, not forgetting the neighbours who will not keep their environment clean ( but will expect the President to come and clean their compounds for them e.t.c). The country is just in a sorry situation. Things have fallen apart!

It is in the light of this that I want to make a suggestion worth deliberating upon fellow nairalanders.

Why not let us COMMERCIALIZE the bursting of CRIME. YES, let us pay in millions any individual or group who can be bursting crimes for us.

People who commit crimes continue to do so because they make gains off it, so why not let people become MILLIONAIRES bursting crimes too!

We must know that only what get's paid for is what gets done in any capitalistic society. If we pay those who are able to expose criminals with incontrovertible evidence off course (to avoid witch hunting)handsomely, then many under-employed or out rightly unemployed Nigerians would be able to become gainfully employed to do this job as a business!

In their covert operations as crime whistle blowers, they will be able to gather intelligence that can be used by a very effective anti-corruption agency (Managed by Human rights and religious groups and answerable to the President directly) to start arresting and speedily prosecuting these criminals in a Crime Tribunal.

The more we then reduce or make it unbearable for criminals to thrive in our father land, the more we are able to weaken the demon of corruption a.k.a "the Nigerian factor" in Nigeria.

Any wise government who can adopt this will profit immensely from this idea. Jobs will be created (Crime Bursters), Corruption will be minimized and the perception about us abroad will be improved.

If I know that I can become a millionaire by secretly exposing this or that Yahoo boy in the neibourhood or if you know that you can build your dream house for your family by simply exposing that your corrupt boss, would'nt it be nice?

By the time we are able to sanitize the Police force and the Civil service for example through this method, we would have taken the 1st step towards the emancipation of this sleeping giant called . . . NIGERIA.
