Nairaland Nigeria's New Theatre Of Political E-war's! by ochejoseph(m): 3:15pm On Aug 12, 2013
Nairaland Nigeria s top website has continued
to leap from glory to glory ,the website
developed Mr.Oluwaseun Osewa is poised to
take its position as one of the fastest growing
social networking sites in the world.
Previously ranked as # 2000+ globally the
website has now overtaken thousands of
western websites in the popular index.
Ranked # 923 according to the most popular
websites a global ranking company for web
traffic with South Africa’s news24 ,Which was
dislodged as Africa's top website by Nairaland
early this year coming far behind at # 1538
globally.
According to Alexa a leading provider of
global web metrics Nairaland still retains her
No 1 position in Africa with several other
Nigerian website site in putting up a good
show in the top 15.
With over 1.1Million registered users and
counting Nairaland is set to take the world by
storm following in the footsteps of the Chinese
Renren and Pengyou which has over 100
million users.
The increasing relevance of Nairaland to
Nigeria's politics is the focus of this piece.
Politically Nairaland has become the political
Melting point in Nigeria where National
issues,Political News and events are laid bare
and e-political Gladiators takes center stage in
their struggle to outwit each other and
promote their political Candidates, ideology or
view point.
The politics section of the forum with over
200,000 views daily and several thousand
comments has become one of the hottest
theatre's of Political e-WARS, with Missiles
flying in all Directions as members struggle to
identify with one party or the other in the
ensuing political ''ruforufo'' .
Interestingly the casualties of these e-Wars
live to fight another day as a user who might
be a villain in a particular thread might be the
hero in another .
The Presidency is not left out in this drive to
tap into the vista provided by Nairaland as
seen in the recent sharing of a Nairaland link
by Media aide of president Goodluck
Jonathan ,Mr Ruben Abati, Among other
threads extolling the administrations
achievements thus Far .
Ignoring Nairaland is to ignore over 1 million
voters mainly youths, which in today's political
calculations could be suicidal, hence the
increase drive by politicians and political
office holders to gauge the pulse of Nigerians
Via the site.
However, the anonymity provided by the site
has left several rooms for Abuse ,political
prostitution,ethnic and religious bigotry
among others
Nevertheless, Nairaland has provided
Nigerians with a platform like no other ,a
forum where they can share their pains ,a
platform where they can exchange Ideas, a
ring where they can fight without shedding
Blood and a link where Nigerians irrespective
of the Location around the globe can join the
Conversation in our drive towards a better
Nigeria .

I doubt if the ruling party at ASO ROCK will live to fight beyond 2015 with the current sufferings of Nigerians as extrapolated recently by Jigawa governor. Anyway, I have a full war chest for this e-war (check my blog enshrined within my signature texts).

P.D.P, See you in 2015!

I think the Mods and admins will take care of them . =))º°˚˚˚°ºнaĦaнaº°˚˚˚°º‎=))
But on a serious note the issues of Banning etc should have a process ie warning etc this will discourage multiple IDs etc
Before I forget programmers where is the unlike button !
