Nigeria's blessing okagbare just won the 200m bronze medal. Jamaica's Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce took gold with the Ivorian Ahoure taking silver. Favourite and Olympic champion Allyson Felix pulled up with an injury during the race.

The mechanics of the 200m is quite straight forward... Shelly Ann had Blessing in her sight and she used her as a target to catch! So if Shelly Ann had used Blessing as a yard stick, shouldnt Blessing be doing the same, using Ahoure as target to chase down because the moment Shelly Ann passed Blessing she was under pressure and tightened up and found it difficult to pass the little Ivorian, despite having longer strides.

Well done to Blessing. But I think she still needs some technical refinement to reach her potential.

A lot of her track issues stem from poor decision-making and errors as opposed to lack of ability.

See, the clip confirms my suspicion. Let's just state, Blessing will perform better from now on in a lane far from the Ivorian. Blessing's talent is such that she should be challenging the Jamaican not being distracted by the inferior African with attitude. Ohurer, or whatever her name is content just as long as she beats the Nigerian. It's a bit like how Ghana would win the world cup if they play every team with the same determination, with which they play against Nigeria.
