NO NAP is a brand new device and first of its kind in Nigeria. This device is an anti-drowsy alert gadget which helps the fatigue driver to overcome the dizzy feeling. NO NAP is found to be very effective in breaking this thin sheet of drowsiness in which the driver is caught unawares and help to recover his presence of mind and concentration.
This intelligent automobile device is very effective and low cost. NO NAP has proved to be very reliable and affordable drowsy driver detection device. NO NAP does not use any of the complicated techniques like YAWN RATE or EYE BLINKING RATE SENSORS, which are unaffordable and unreliable.
NO NAP works on the principle of gravitation switch. When drivers head nods forward in drowsiness, the intelligent gadget senses the motion of the head and the gravitational switch gets activated. In the active state, NO NAP gives a sound to alert the driver and others on board. NO NAP responds to the state of the driver well, and increases safety of both the driver and passengers. 90% of the accident occurs due to error and driver drowsiness is the major one of human errors. A great savings in human live and financial loss could be realized by this device that helps effective avoidance of accident due to drivers’ sleepy state. This system detects a driver nodding and provides a warning with sound to alert the driver and eliminates the possibility of driving while getting sleepy. This device can also well serve at monitoring stations where the vigilance of the operator or workers is of prime importance. Operators can use NO NAP and prevent themselves from falling asleep and miss any important task. NO NAP has also proven to be life guard to people who are deployed at very risky proned sites like in construction, heavy industries and machineries, security guards and defense personels can also utilize this device during their night vigilance.

[center]FUNCTION DESCRIPTION[/center]
NO NAP is worn on the left ear. It can be made active/On by sliding the switch to On position, and inactive/Off by sliding the switch the Off position. When the gadget is active and drivers’ head fall forward due to drowsiness or distraction, the intelligent NO NAP will buzz loudly in the ear and make the driver alert at the wheel. The alarm is quite loud enough for passengers sitting next to and behind the driver to also hear. The gadget gives the alarm at preset angles. The angle can be varied according to requirement. The gravity switch inside the gadget keeps the track of the position of the position of the drivers’ head. NO NAP if not in use, the switch should be kept at OFF position.
