Okay; normally I use Total Video Converter to convert my DVDs to 700MB (640 x 360) movies with good picture. Then recently, I realized download sites now upload HD movies that are around 700MB. I've tried to compress my Blu-rays and HD-DVD movies to be as small as that (contrary to the 3GB HD I usually convert them to) using all the Codecs on Total Video Converter and they always turn out crappy! Only Mkv format(using H264 Codec) is good enough. But I wanna know the softwares those sites use for their Conversion! |

I never have to rip DVDs but I hear DVD Decrypter does a really good job. Hopefully someone can point you in the right direction. |

Does anyone know if that DVD Decryptor is available in Nigeria? I currently use Power Video Converter which is crappy. |

There are others too but I have not looked into them. I have Mac The Ripper; never used it as don't rip DVDs DVD Decrypter - https://www.google.co.uk/#fp=8f3143b6b3d84e71&q=dvd+decrypter My go to software for converting stuff is MPEG Streamclip; a lot of editors use it to convert from one codec to another. Note that, what I'm actually looking for is a converter that can gimme a high quality HD videos at a very low bitrate! As low as 850kb/s. If not for that, Total Video Converter does a great job in converting my Video files. 3GB movies seems to be eating up my space. I will check up the suggestions though. BTW, I think I've heard about the compression ability of that MPEG Stream clip. It might be the solution to my problems. Thanks a lot guys |

Since I use MPEG Streamclip to convert stuff mainly for editing... the export folder is usualy an external hard drive. I do all my editing off external HDs... never the same HD as the system I'm editing on. |
