The Speaker addressed a press conference.

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly will no longer hold any sittings until the security of the lawmakers is guaranteed, the Speaker of the Assembly, Musa Mohammed, told reporters in a news conference on Tuesday.

Mr. Mohammed addressed journalists in Lafia in the presence of the Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police.

Hundreds of youth had stormed the Assembly on Tuesday throwing stones and other weapons at the lawmakers after the state governor, Tanko Al-Makura, appeared before the lawmakers following his summon.

They launched an attack Probably cuz they got a tipoff of an alleged plan to share some embezzled funds at the chamber... Good for them, all they do is share constituency allocations for personal consumption.
**I hope the youths were able to knack some Lawmakers Akpako(Mace) on their heads**

The 1st ever was in River state and now this is 2nd involving youths disrupting sittings and injuring members. Actually changing the content of Nigeria's history. After all, the only constant thing is change, so now we are in an era of jungle justice, brutal killings and use of hoodlums publicly. The next generation of History books about Nigeria would contain something new, even though it is culmination of insanity.

200 thugs invade Nasarawa Assembly

OVER 200 thugs allegedly sponsored by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State Tuesday invaded the state House of Assembly to beat up members alleged to be plotting the impeachment of the state Governor Tanko Al-Makura.

The governor had honoured an invitation by the house to appear before it and explain series of allegations bordering on gross misconduct and other forms of abuse of his office.

But immediately after the deliberations, which lasted for three hours, the invading thugs defied the presence of heavily armed security operatives including the police, civil defence and SSS to unleash mayhem on members of the PDP dominated legislature.

Despite the governor’s attempt to stop them, the thugs made straight for the main building in the complex to carry out their nefarious assignment but were prevented by the security men particularly the police, who fired tear gas canisters with several live shots in the air to disperse them.

The 22 members in attendance were therefore locked in the chambers to protect them from been lynched by the mob group most of who were bare footed as has being observed to be the tradition of such groups in the state during violent campaigns.

The resolutions of the house which necessitated the governor’s appearance were the sacking of staff of the state transport service known as Nasarawa State Transport Service (NTS), compulsory leave of the management of the state owned university as well as the termination of appointment of some staff of the state owned publishing company, which publishes Newsday newspaper.

Members who met under the committee of the whole were not forth coming with convincing issues as to why the governor must appear before the house as manifest in the in ability of the House Committee Chairman on Information, Baba Ibaku, who led other members that took turns in bombarding the governor with questions.

The house having exhausted it’s legitimate time for sitting which it noted should not exceed 6:PM adjourned the sitting and urged the governor to be ready as the appropriate date to reconvene will be communicated him through the appropriate channel.

The state Commissioner of Police, Umar Shehu immediately led a re-enforced team of police men and soldiers to the Assembly complex to keep watch following the re-grouping of the thugs to ensure the success of their mission even as the state legislators were still been held in doors.

How about you telling your pdp legislooters to tell your pdp controlled efcc to charge the governor to court if they have real evidence instead of beating about the bush
